new here so early apologies if not providing enough info. Driving on highway recently and I start to hear a hissing/sputtering, grows in loudness, then suddenly stops, occasionally with a thud/bump sound and feel. Don’t lose power, the thud/bump doesn’t come from a downshift. It almost sounds like a high pressure line is leaking, like a hydraulic pressure line. It may happened a every few minutes, then not again for 45 minutes. I have only noticed it when I am between 75 and 79mph.

No check engine light, no temp issues with trans or engine…

Anyone had similar happen?

I definitely am getting a noise but no codes are being thrown. Attempting to recreate has been a challenge.

I have the exact issue, but how do you get the attention of Ford service, as the issue only occurs for me at 75 miles/hr, usually about 1 hr. into my trip? Occasionally I can go on a 7 hr. trip, and have the issue never occur. The noise can last for 5 minutes, or sometimes for 20 minutes. Then goes away. Happened yesterday on my 3 hour trip at highway speeds. Started about 2-3 years ago. Never occurs around town. The loud noise seems to be from the front, but cannot localize. Sounds like loud wind noise, like something is coming off my car or the sunroof suddenly opened. The noise goes away when I slow down and get off the throttle. Seems to be related to the turbo, for when the turbo comes on, that seems to be when the noise starts. I can pull my 5000 lb. tritoon pontoon boat down the highway at 55 miles/hr with full power and no issues. Turbo seems to work well and have full power otherwise. This issue is starting to be concerning because I don't want to have this be a major repair when my extended warranty expires.

I have the 2018 Limited Expedition with the HD tow and 4wd with low range 4wd. I have the turbo gauge displayed, and when the noise occurs at 75 mph, seems to be some turbo dysfunction. Never had any check engine lights.

I will attempt to video record this when it happens next, but I don't know how helpful that will be, since it sounds like a big increase in wind noise.
