Initial thoughts and impressions:
1) Forged Green…awesome color. Gets many compliments and questions. Changes tone in bright and dark light.
2) Interior build quality…last Ford product I owned was a 2017 F150 King and the 2022 Expy build quality, fit and finish is considerably better. I had a 2021 Expy loaner while waiting for my vehicle and the 2022 interior is a noticeable upgrade.
3) Sandstone leather…looks great. Headliner is similar color which adds to the interior.
4) Benchseat…does NOT have center arm rest! Why?
5) 15” screen…you get used to the climate controls on the screen. Set it to Auto and use voice control to set the temperature. No one touch dedicated camera button - not a big deal in reality. Press the parking sensor button on center console then select camera on the screen (so 2 button presses vs. 1).
6) Apple CarPlay…looks great. Big win for me vs. Sync 3- you can have factory NAV going and use Apple CarPlay at the same time for calls, text, apps. Sync Voice command and Siri can coexist! Short press on the voice command button on the steering wheel for sync, long press for Siri. Sync 3 was either or, not both if phone connected.
7) lane keep assist, lane centering, adaptive cruise all work very well.
8) digital dash - upgrade with 15” screen. Not much to customize. Apple CarPlay Maps directions show in the dash.

So far, great first impression. I have 2 x 2300 mile road trips coming up in the next 6 weeks so looking forward to see how it does in those circumstances.

Does Car Play sound the same regardless if using a USB cord or Bluetooth? Or is sound quality better with USB cord?

I’ve only used wireless Apple CarPlay so far. Sounds decent, I’d expect a wired connection to be better.

I experienced constant stuttering while hard-wired into my '22 Expy. Went away when I switched to wireless Carplay. I still charge using a cable, but not off the integrated USB port. I use a cigarette charger plugged into the center storage cubby with the cable sticking out the front.

I’ll add this to my experience…my build was updated to remove the rear heated seats and rear climate controls. The vehicle was delivered with them.

Pleasant surprise and I have not seen other commenters where the same happened to them.

I agree. why in the hell no pull out armrest?… crazy

Beautiful ride!
a pull-out arm rest is a great idea. However, that seat would not be regular seat anymore and likely would be harder and bulge into the occupant's back. Nearly all pull out arm rest seats are hard in the back and on long rides would not be as comfortable as the true (albeit smaller) contoured seat you have in the middle of the Expy. Another way of going around this issue is the design used in the current Acura MDX. The back of the seat is leather upholstered with cup holders and when you fold the middle seat, the back acts like an arm rest and also you can take out the entire middle seat giving you a 7-seater with a walk through which is practical also for daily use by a family of 5 or 6 not travelling with luggage during daily jaunts - or to keep distance between squabbling children. I believe in some Honda Odysseys the second-row bench middle seat is removable as well. see 20 to 40 second mark in video for details if interested

I would do this when I had mine, fold the middle section when I sat back there, but the seat sat too low for actual use as a viable armrest.
