have a 2022 Timberline with the HD towing so I have the controller. I will tell you from my experience installing the factory brake controller in our 2018 F150 that you will likely have to either pay the dealer to activate the controller once installed or if you do it yourself you have to use Forscan to access and activate. once you have FORScan and a cable you will find other options that can be made to your vehicle. Lots of youtube videos to assist. Dash in the 22 is different from the 18 Expedition we had. That might be why the brake controller does not fit. Might not have it available right now.

I’ll add one additional note here on installing the brake controller. The F150’s had an actual connector hard mounted behind the coin slot where the controller would be installed. On our 2018 all I had to do once I had access to the opening is press the controller in place. No having to fish for a pigtail and connect.

Just bought a new 2022 Exp Max, mine had this kit in the rear storage area, wiring with info tags and a plug, here is the documentation. have no idea what to do with it, but thought you all might be able to use the info.

There is absolutely a plug behind the coin holder contrary to previous info. On my Timberline anyway. Look up and behind the dead space behind the coin cubby and it’s in a dummy plug holder. Use some long needle nose to pull it loose then utilize the female plug TobiasX above points out to get your wiring out to use an aftermarket controller. May even be an existing aftermarket plug adapter. I’m installing a Red Arc. Edit: Adapter in pic below sure looks the part for a Red Arc TBC…
May need FORSCAN to activate this setup. I’ll report back soon on that.
Final edit: No Forscan necessary. Just tried it pulling my R-Pod 202. Works more seamlessly than the factory tbc in my Super Duty.

OH MY, did that panel just pop out? just use some plastic trim remover tools? so you used the supplied adapter to pull the plug for access, then used the REDARC Tow-Pro Brake Elite Controllers
CIKTP-NA-002 and used that adapter wire to connect it all? That summit part online it does not say it will fit 2022 exp. Thank you for your help!

The coin holder panel will pop out yes. Takes a little effort and careful use of a trim removal tool. I did remove the “IPad” nav screen initially which actually has just 3 bolts and 2 plugs to deal with. With it out you can get behind the coin holder and push it out easier. Had initially ordered the adapter harness from Redarc as an experiment. Got impatient while waiting on it to arrive and wired in the Ford factory supplied pigtail to the universal harness supplied with the Redarc brake controller I already had. The plug on the TPH-007 harness looks identical after I took delivery. The installed brake controller works better than any I’ve ever used personally.

I have a 2022 expedition timerline, it is not equipped with the heavy tow package. However, I have been looking for the components for the intergraded trailer brake. I have came up with a few parts. As you can see the pig tail is different. I did get a part number off a Expedition Timberline that has one factory installed. The plug that both pig tails plug into, appears to be the same. At this point finding the pig tail is the issue. I am actively looking, I am close. I am not sure ”yet“ if the complete pro towing backing is fully needed. More to follow
