Okay Peeps, hoping someone can help. on my 2008 Expedition Limited (EL) both my front and rear washer pumps were working a week ago, now they have both stopped working. When I push the front washer button on the end of the control stork, nothing happens, no click and no noise from the pump, same thing for the rear, rotate the switch to squirt water and no noise (don't hear any relays clicking or motors spinning). I can't believe that both pumps would fail in a week, so I am assuming they both run of one fuse and that fuse has blown (no idea why). I looked in the owners manual and it shows for the passenger foot well fuse box, fuse 19 rear wiper, fuse 34 rear wiper logic & fuse 45 front wiper logic. All 3 fuses are good, if I remove them then the appropriate window wiper does not operate, but nothing list the washer motors!! I then checked the front fuse box (above the radiator) and it lists fuse 49 (Front wiper/washer) and sure enough if I remove it the front wiper does not operate). The front fuse box does state washer so I assume that is the washer motor fuse, but I still haven't found anything for the rear washer motor. Anyone know what fuses feed the washer motors? I am going to try and get access to the 2 motors and check they work (Hidden below the battery, so difficult to get to) but thought I would ask here in case anyone has some suggestions.

Cheers Gary

well I am not too sure how this works, but I removed the front washer motor (very easily done, just remove front right headlight and the pump is easily accessible) and checked it and sure enough it has seized up and does not turn. According to the manual there is also a pump for the rear window, but I could not locate it, I purchased a new front pump from ford $45, installed it and now both the front and rear window washers work!! Why changing the front washer motor should make the rear motor work is beyond me, but happy that everything works again!! I had thought that maybe the pump turns in one direction to feed water to the front windscreen and turns in the opposite direction to feed water to the rear window, but the manual clearly states there is a front washer pump motor and a rear washer motor, so no idea why the rear pump now works when I only changed the front washer motor..

On my 2015 Expedition Limited, one washer fluid pump supplies fluid to the front and rear glass.

The printed owner’s manual for my 2015 Expedtion had numerous errors in it, with incorrect illustrations, pictures and information. I have never owned a vehicle with such a poorly written manual.

Perhaps your manual is also miswritten?

Gary is right. I had no washer (front or rear) working on mine. I measured the voltage in the plug of the wiring harness when actuation either wascher form inside. Clearly front is +12V and rear activation is -12V. So if the pump is broken no washer will work (front or rear). I replaced the pump and everything is fine. Forget the aftermarket manuals for such things! I have a 2011 EL XLT.

For anyone reading this, I'd like to clarify that the "washer motors" and "washer pump" are two different things that are actually FOUR different things - 3 separate motors one for each wiper and one single pump for both front and rear nozzles. You can get the wipers to move with a bad pump and you can probably get the fluid to squirt with one, two, or three bad motors (though I can't verify they will).
