Maxine, our 2019 Max Platinum is ready for her first road trip since we got her in April. New tires, a bath and an oil change. She's so fancy!
Our family of 5 is traveling 1,000 miles one way for my 20th high school class reunion. We have made this trip in an extended cab F150 and a Taurus x. Maxine feels like the grand canyon in comparison. Hometown, here we come!

Interesting comparison as I have an F-150 and the wife currently has the Taurus X that is being replaced by a 2022 Expedition Max. Hopefully getting it by the end of the month. We have made lots of road trips in the Taurus X and the kids are essentially outgrowing the space.

The Exp is a great road trip vehicle. I used to have Acura MDX and my kids would say they got tired after 4 or 5 hours on the road. We usually drove from Arkansas to Atlanta then Tampa and nobody complained anything. The on-board Wi-Fi distracted everyone from long distance :)

We're in the middle of a 2,200 mile round trip from Dallas to Kentucky in our 22 Expy Limited also purchased in April. Fuel economy has been great, averaging 21.9 MPG since departure a week ago, which is phenominal compared to my 2013 Expy that averaged about 16 MPG. This trip has been a great opportunity to learn the ins and outs of the adaptive cruise control and speed limit recognition. Only issue I have is finding a car wash anywhere near where we're at :) Overall really happy with the purchase.

Sounds like our house! My husband's daily driver is a 1993 f150. Which is creeping up on 300,000 miles. It's also falling apart. Ha! He is determined to get to 300k though. We also have an 09' that is the "good pickup" it spends most of its time parked in the barn. And an 06' f350 for hauling our 5th wheel cattle trailer. We also had a '72 f250 super crew that was my favorite! But we sold that recently. We farm, so many trucks with different jobs.
I drove my Taurus x for 8 years, replaced with the max. Same situation, the kids just got too big for it. And it was starting to have transmission issues. But over all it was a good car. You wife is going to be in mom bus bliss. It's sooo good! All of it! Don't be surprised if you find her just sitting in it for no reason. Ha! And gushing about how many grocery bags she can fit in the back. I insisted on one with the two rows of bucket seats. Not having to flip seats for the third row is a dream!
Share pictures when it arrives!

Have fun on the trip! Yes these are great road trip vehicles. Wife and I took ours to the Texas coast last week and it was much more comfortable then her Highlander. Driving the speed limit I got close to 22 mpg in our FX4 with 3.73 gearing .

We've been on the road about an hour. The kids are all sleeping. No fussing about not having enough room. Happy kids, happy parents.
