Rear end swing when hitting bumps

I have a 2018 XLT Max. I've noticed recently that when I hit a bump like manhole cover or something kind of jarring that the rear end sort of swings out in a way it didn't used to do. This is when the rear tire hits it not the front. The vehicle has 60k miles on it. The front struts have also been replaced due to leaks one at 20k and one about 2k ago. I don't see any leaks on the rear suspension and I'm not entirely sure if that's the source of this annoying roll. Any ideas what the issue may be?

Check the end-links and make sure you don't have one that is either worn or broken. The factory links are pretty cheap.

The XLT struts often leak out at 10-20K, so I'd bet your rears are junk too.

Are the rears on the XLT shocks or struts. The front was covered by the ESP but if the rear is shocks those may not be.

My dealer told me the rears are shocks and not covered by the ESP. I confirmed they're called shocks in the Ford parts catalog. They're coil-overs just like the fronts, but apparently only the fronts are struts. After 7 leaking shocks/struts I gave up and replaced them all with Bilsteins.

Most likely this issue is shocks, my jeep did this big time and went away after new shocks. It could also be a weak sway bar. Many complain about the stock sway bar and I haven't noticed an issue but that might be because I moved to bilsteins, which made a big difference in the feel of the expedition.

Do you have this in writing, that you can share. My dealer is telling my that fronts are not covered under esp warranty

I don't have this in writing but I do know my fronts were done under the ESP recently.

This must have changed recently. I just pulled up the brochure from Flood Ford: https://floodfordesp.com/pdf/PremiumCARE_Ford_ESP.pdf

Under the "front and rear suspension" section there's no mention of struts. But in the copy I saved when I got my ESP a couple of years ago, it says "MacPherson Style Struts" in that section.

They look very similar and are both coil-overs.
