I just wanted to say so long to the group that helped me find a lot of answers about my 2019 stealth. I loved the vehicle but traded it in for a Z71 Suburban 4X4. I actually ordered both a timberline and the Z71 but the Ford is still waiting to be put in production and I received the Chevy in 2 months after ordering. Thank you for all y'alls insight and help.

I really preferred the outside of the Yukon to the Expedition but the leg room in the third row was so much worse that I went with the Expedition.

LT motors with AFM/DFM scare me. Most of my friends with them have a bad experience to share. I had a Yukon AT4 on order for months, but those months gave me too much time to research the unfixable problems of that technology. For many, you'll never have a problem with the motor. And if that's the case, the GM is better looking with better features. One recommendation - do your homework on the engine oil. Put the right stuff in it often, especially during those first 10K. You must use Dexos 1 Gen 2 rated oils. In fact, there's a Gen 3 available now that's supposed to be better. This site describes things pretty well:

What they don't come out and say is that they're trying to keep the lifters from annihilating the engine. The Fords have their problems also, but to each their own. Good luck.

Yep. I had a 5.3L with AFM. Horrible design.

It burned oil and the PCM could never make good decisions on when to use 4 cylinder mode vs 8 cylinder mode.

All models have their strengths and their weaknesses. I had a 2016 Yukon Denali. Traded it for the Expedition because of the interior room for the kids but I preferred the seating position and some things with the Denali (HUD, seating position, handling) but overall the Expedition was a better vehicle for me. I wouldn’t be opposed to getting back into a Denali but new vehicles are ridiculous.

That's interesting. I couldn't honestly tell you the entire difference in design but all three of my 5.7L hemi's with MDS (cylinder delete) worked flawlessly. I never saw huge gains in MPG as I had so many aftermarket things done, but honestly the only time I really knew what it was doing was either with displays and/or the exhaust note. What I do know was 16 spark plugs got expensive ever 12-16 months, and 7qts of synthetic, phew!
