Hello,
I’m Tony. I couldn’t find any examples of a Gen 1 Expy with 285/75r17 tires on stock suspension and stock wheels, so I went for it. Pics below.

Before you ask, very slight rubbing on the lower front plastic when at lock going backwards down the driveway. Otherwise, nothing.

Thanks for having me,
Tony

I had 285's on stock 17's as well, a 3" x 2" level kit from supreme suspensions takes that little rub away, but turning too sharp rubs the sway bar a little. But nothing too serious.
Looks good!

Dude! Looks good! Yeah, I'm actually surprised there isn't a wheel and tire dedicated thread to our first gens? Or at least I haven't found it. But I'm looking at going to this size too!

I run 295/75R16 BFG All-Terrains and have the same rubbing issues. 4.11 Gears and front L/S are in the works. Small lift and shocks are on the list but will have to wait until gears are finished!

How big of a lift are you doing? I’m running 315/70/17 with a 3 1/2 lift with extended shocks, stock gears

Looks good. I see you cut the bumper at an angle, is that because it rubs? Also are you planning to lift it a couple inches? With my combination, I got 3 1/2 inches on mine while running 315/70/17 Duratracs, it’s a totally different truck.

Sorry for the late response, bumper isn't cut at all.. might be camera angle... what rubbed was the back edge of the fender flare on the front wheel.. but only when making right turns and only for an instant.. like I say, I found it was missing a screw, and when I put the screw in to clamp it back down, the rub went away.. I put a 3" lift on it over the weekend because I wanted the articulation.. Definitely a work in progress truck, lol... next weekend I'm looking at quick disconnect end links from Warrior Products, but think I'll have to engineer something for the rear, since the factory end links are 18" and WP doesn't make anything over 12"
