My 22 max expedition XLT was hit by a company truck when he backed up over 30 into my parked expy. He was ticketed and my car has been in the shop just over a month now.

The body shop estimates at least 15k of damages to the front end. It was not drivable and had to be towed.

Obviously the problem is supply chain which is why so many expys are still still there waiting on parts etc. They have to provide OEM since it was produced less than 24 months ago. Had 1200 miles on it.

The body shop has no ETA for a lot of parts, especially sensors. They are estimating at least 6-9 months of waiting. They just finished a 20 navigator and it waited 6 months for less damage.

Does anyone know my options? We need my car back :( it’s our family vehicle. Yes we’re in a rental at their expense but it’s just not doing what we need it to do and there’s a wait for large suvs obviously because of the supply chain now affecting rentals.

Wanted to add I’m okay super shaken up, my dogs were with me and they hit the dash but they’re better, and thankfully my kids weren’t with me. We have an attorney for injuries but not the loss of the vehicle.

In My Opinion,
All this should be being handled by your lawyer and your lawyer should be answering these questions. If they can't i suggest getting second opinion from another lawyer that is there for you and not just for injuries.

Yikes! Who backs up at 30mph?! WTW! So glad everyone is OK. But major bummer, you waited so long to get your new ride and then CRUNCH!

By the time all the parts arrive to make it complete again, the total of a rental, storage and loss of use will probably exceed it's value. I'd be pushing the insurance total it. Get a very good lawyer.

Trying to be as vague as possible- but it was a utility vehicle used to pick up trash that’s a huge huge truck.. if you catch my drift. And the worst part is he didn’t just stop he drug me back 10 feet.

Neighbor was involved in a wreck 6+ months ago with their Alfa Giulia that damaged the rear control arm and axle. Zero available in the US, none even at scrap yards. Got the car back two weeks ago finally after waiting on parts manufacturing in Italy. They had him in a rental the whole time, prices are so squirrely that totaling isn't as cut and dry as it used to be.

And dont forget loss of value for the hard hit. The vehicle will be forever branded with a “serious accident” which makes it much less desireable / valuable to any potential buyer / trade in. I know I would not buy it at any price.

Agree that the right lawyer gets this totaled, using the above factors.
