Hi All,

I did a search and found some info, but nothing definitive regarding the Timberline.

I would greatly appreciate it if you guys could share what max height garages you can make it into with the Timberline. In all of Ford's wisdom they don't directly say what the height is of the Timberline on the website. The dealers I spoke to couldn't nail it down, and none were willing to measure properly....To make it worse, no local dealers have any in stock for me to go and measure myself...I have a 6' 6" clearance at my office and no street parking available. This will be the daily for a while to come, so it needs to fit!

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Lastly, I am new, so please feel free to flame as you see fit. I haven't had a ford in the family since our 85 T-Bird, but loved that car dearly. Do not love the offerings from GM and Dodge, really like the Timberline.

Thanks guys!

76.4” according to the spec sheet for a standard expedition and the timberline shows 0.8” more ground clearance. Note that the dimensions do not include optional equipment so the cross bars aren’t in that calc.

77.2” is quite close to the 6’6” especially if they weren’t precise with the measurements.

I had similar garage clearance concerns in taking delivery and certainly could not find the clearance I was looking for since my garage opening is arched. Is your opening straight across? I'll take pics and tape measurements tomorrow for you but here's what I know off hand...

With my roof rack cross bars (the little left to rights that attach to roof rails) removed, the center antenna is the high point. Passenger side height clearance is almost exactly 76". Add 1.5" (maybe 2" max) from there to the top of the antenna. If you're garage opening is flat, you'll be VERY close at 78" but I think you'll have a fraction of an inch in clearance.

Hope this helps for now. Please stay tuned.

Thanks for the reply! My thoughts too, just didn't want to make an assumption on this. If I don't fit, I'm going to have a problem.

Mine is straight across, its a underground parkade at my office. All i need is a fraction of clearance. My buddy's 2022 Suburban just fits...So I know the regular Expo will, its just the Timberline that might be too tall.

Waiting patiently for the results of your measurements.

Sorry to keep you waiting... FULL plate these days! I just got a large level on top of the Timberline and was surprised to see the antenna is a fraction of an inch lower than the top of the roof rail (again with cross members removed) so you are GOOD to GO with a 78" max. Somewhere between 76-77" is where the roof rails measure from the garage floor in various locations.

Happy to help. Here's the evidence! In the tape measure pic, the faux wood surface is the rubber molding. The stucco is white. I sometimes graze the molding which varies in height from the arch but you'll see approximately where I went in was 76-77 clearance.
