Found the No Crank Fault!

Decided to be lazy and hit the starter from inside the fender. I had the hood open so there was plenty of light. When locating the starter I noticed a harness sitting on top of the manifold. I nudge it up, put a new fuse in for the Transmission B+ that kept blowing. It did not blow. Jumped in the truck and it started right up. Pulled around and up into the driveway to do an inspection of the harness for broken wires and make the repairs needed.

The trucks an 07 and the factory jack has never been used. LOL.

Hope this cures the feeling i get of a mis / lundge as well.

Does pressing the brake make any difference? I haven’t had this problem yet.

Edit - Never mind. Good job. When you get to the tune up step figure out where the water is coming from. Probably the intake unless it’s already a Doorman. Also maybe the heater hose fix where it leaks on top of the motor.

I have had the solenoid lockup the gear selector on my 99 and wifeys 03 Windstar. They were both quick fixes. Never had a No Crank condition as a result. Does not mean it's never happened to anyone. Just not my case here.
Never mind. Good job.
Thanks the forum gets the credit though.

??? Not sure if any of that stuff is done yet. Previous owner was very vauge with answers about issues with it. This is a new canvas for me. If aint broke don't fix it, I can wait til spring. Once October comes around all PM is done on all vehilces and equipment with my fingers crossed.
Before problem could you start truck without pressing the brake?
Yes, and still can now that it's fixed. I had to do a ighting inspection anyway.

I was not able to do the repair right. Where the harness was rubbing and grounding out was behind the block at the manifold where it turn down rearwards to the tranny. I'll have to pull either the tranny harness or the exhaust to get to where it needs the repairs.

I ended up taping the harness up and putting wire loom over the harness then put loom over that. Took it out for a test drive. Ran fine no misfure counts yet, did feel any. No CEL either. Before it couldn't get over 80 MPH, it actual got to a buck five. By the time I got home the truck was smoking. The wire loom had melted off and was sitthing on top of the manifold melting. I checked the harness it never hit the manifold but the tape melted as well. Must be pretty hot in there. I ended up taping it up again and routing the harness closer to the firewall. I wonder if it so hot in the area that the harness gets to hot and starts to sag onto the manifold.

Thinking of doing a smoke testing on the exhaust see if there's a leak there ot fflames shooting out.

We'lll see on Wenesday how the harnessss holds up.
