Hello from the UK!

My a/c isn't blowing cold so I'm booked in for a regas at a local garage. They need to know how much gas and oil to put in the system. Does anyone know? I think it uses r134a and pag 46 oil but I'm hoping someone can confirm!

I have the 5.4 2wd with front climate control and rear temperature control so I assume I have dual hvac?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, and yes to the questions but for what it's worth if a shop that is doing the work needs help from you I'd go to a different place before they cause more problems. I get you are in the UK but resources for most auto shops are quite extensive and that should be easily obtained by anyone even remotely competent in repair.

Our 03 Nav has dual air and I'm fairly certain all of them did, there very few options available for them in that generation, most were well equipped. In the passenger quarter area you will see the blower and other hvac components if you remove tray above the wheel well. If its low on refrigerant hopefully they find out why so it's not money wasted and vented into the air for no reason.

Yes, use PAG 46 and R134a ( 54 oz ) . Attached is the HVAC general spec and capacity sheet.

Thanks everyone. Pretty much no places in the UK carry any spec for American vehicles let alone the nav. I've had it 7 years and am yet to find any garage that has the info. I'm used to the response from garages being 'if you can get the spec we can do it but it won't be on our system'
Because I'm so used to that response, I do most of the repairs myself but the ac is one I can't do as I don't want to use the DIY bottles of refrigerant.
The garage will run a leak test and if the ac doesn't work after a regas, it's free of charge.

Hamfisted, that pdf is perfect! Thank you

Should have a label under the hood with the refrigerant/oil charge on it.
Mine did/does but it is so faded I cannot work any of it out!
All sorted now and all blowing cold.....except for the rear which is blowing tepid air. Is this the actuator in the rear hvac?

It could be the actuator. Common failure item. Or it could be the rear expansion valve. With the AC on do you feel the rear AC pipes getting cold underneath the right rear of the vehicle ? Also if the AC system is a little low on freon it won't get very cold in the rear system. What kind of pressures are you reading on the high and low side now ?

Actuator circled in RED is Temperature control .... circled in GREEN is vent control...
