Any families gone from Supercrew pick up to Expedition?

That would be maybe once a year or less.

Just typing this already sounds like the SUV is the way to go. I just wanted to see what ya'll think.

Finally, as much as I don't want to spend all the money on the high line trim, those captain chairs are pretty much essential for the dog to move around on long trips, plus ease of getting to the 3rd row for the kids if I need to haul more adults like taking the grandparents somewhere.

I just arrived to my overseas duty location. I’ve started working with military auto source (MAS) to order my Expy Max. I won’t see it until next summer when I return to the states. MAS came in a few grand under MSRP.

I don't want a max. Won't be towing much. As far as trims. If I do a high trim XLT, towing, LSD diff, I'm at $73k. If I do a low trim Timberline, I'm also at $73k. The difference is the XLT gets the captains chair, which I want, but the Timberline has the HO motor with 60 more HP, which is nothing to sneeze at.

My neighbor took delivery of his F350 Platinum Tremor about 6 weeks before I took delivery of our Timberline... Couldn't resist backing into his driveway to snap the pic! Do you plan to garage the vehicle? His F350 will not fit in my garage.

We are a family of 4 with one that just started HS and one in college. The son in college has dated his now fiancé for 5 years and she goes with us on every vacation. I had a gorgeous 2018 Lariat F250 that served as the family ride. The 5 of us always had comfort in the F250. But last year, we were on a family beach trip and I mentioned to my wife I missed an Expedition. She agreed. We had downsized her vehicle back in 2018 to a Lifted Wrangler and I bought the F250. Well we casually started looking at Expeditions and when we sat in our current 2019 Stealth at the dealership, it was a no brainer. We traded her Wrangler on the Expy, and it has been her daily and our trip vehicle since. The kids love the captains chairs and we fold down the larger third row seat for luggage space. I did buy a hitch haul for this years beach trip and it gave us plenty of room. This is our third Expy and it’s just the perfect all around vehicle. My wife didn’t like the low slung nature (remember- lifted Wrangler) so I added the ready lift 3/2 and she picked out her Fuel Wheels and 34” Falkens. Now it’s on another level. She loves driving it daily and I love the versatility. Both vehicles will do the job but the Expy is my choice for the family.

I had captains chairs in the second row of my Suburban (GMT900). Bench in the Expedition. It’s easier to get in and out of the third row in the Ford with the way the ends of the bench slide and flip forward than it was in the ‘Burban. This may also have to do with the rear door being longer on the Ford.

I have Supercew and Expedition.

I'd say go with the Expedition as Supercrew will be tight to haul it all plus 2 kids and a dog in the backseat, moreso about two kids and the dog.

I will say we had a '20 Expedition with 3 row center and while it was good yet challenging to have all 3 kids in the middle, that meant I could fold down the back row and have huge space.

Our '22 is captain chairs which is much better for our kids to walk in and around the cabin (soon to have kid #4 on the way so chairs were a must). The BIG drawback going captains chairs was storage. Yes, we have a Max but even with the rear seats up, the cargo space is limited. Will fit a stroller and that's pretty much it. Will be challenging if we need to haul lots of suitcases etc for a road trip or even big grocery run.

We have an older, '15 Expy and first gen SCREW Raptor. The crew cab has tons of room inside for a truck. FOR A TRUCK. The Expy has a ton more room inside for kiddos, dogs, etc. Needed a leveling kit and bigger tires but love the Eco motor. Decent mileage and good power when needed. It'll tow your jeep. You might enjoy driving it on some easier trails around Moab, like Gemini Bridges if it's still open.
I wish we would have had the Expy when we were stationed in Germany years ago.. would have been great to take on the Autobahn.

I took my family everywhere in my 2004 and 2015 Expeditions. Now that they're grown, I have an 2020 F-150 Supercrew and I can't imagine trying to take my family on vacations using it. Honestly, to me the Expeditions were the perfect travel vehicle. In fact, even though now it's just my wife and me, we both REALLY miss the Expedition and we may buy one just for our travels...but $81K for the Timberline I want...yikes...maybe we'll stick with the F-150.

Mom of 3 here! Expedition, Max! We have an f150 and a 350 (different tasks at the farm) yes the pickups can seat everyone, but then there is no where to put "stuff". The max has loads of cargo space snd everyone is comfortable. We took our Max on a 1,000 mile trip this summer with no screens. Everyone was comfortable, had their own space. No complaints the whole trip. Our oldest also has Asperger's and needs his own space, he gets agitated if too long packed in the pickup. Max, he has his own space. We got the two row captains chairs for that reason. He has a whole seat to himself. I came from 8 years with a Taurus X to the max (we purchased the Max April). So much more room! We all love it! Expedition Max for the win! We did get the HD tow incase we want to pull with it too. That was the deal sealer for my farmer. It will pull like an f150 if we need it too.

Overall I think the Expedition will be a great fit for your needs. We love ours (2018 Plati w/ HD Tow). I also have a fairly highly modified Rubicon. I haven't tried towing it yet, but have done a little research. Although the Expedition should he able to tow the weight no problem, it looks like the biggest issue will be its limited payload. If you put an appropriate amount of tongue weight on the Expy, depending on your trim you'll only have a few hundred pounds remaining. So it's probably doable if it's just you. But I'll generally have my wife and 3 kids, plus all our gear, so I'm worried we'd easily exceed total payload while towing the Jeep. I'd look up the numbers for the model/trim you're looking up as well as figure out the total weight of your Jeep/trailer to make sure it'll all work safely for your needs, if this is a deal-breaker for you.
