Morning,

This past weekend I got around to putting the 5100 Bilsteins up front on my 2017. I had the alignment done and I’m hearing a fair amount of squeaking even with small bumps while driving. Is this just a sign that I need to tighten up all the nuts that I had to remove to get the new shock/strut on each side? This is my first rodeo doing this so just not sure if that would be a symptom of those being loose, or if I should attack somewhere else. The upper control arms don’t contact the springs while driving, or turning, so I think that’s out.
Thanks in advanced.

Did you torque things down with the wheels off the ground or on? Guideline is to assemble everything kinda loose, set the truck down on its wheels so the weight of the truck is on the suspension, and then torque things down as the parts are in the zero'ed out position.

Are the struts on a 2016 Expy true struts where you have to compress the spring to replace the shocks?

Thank you

Yup, all four springs must be removed and compressed to install the bilsteins.

Also what are some good shocks, preferably loaded ones? I don't care if they're the Bilstein ones or not, just whatever you can recommend works for me. I need new ones for my 07 and I've been looking around but Idk a lot about suspension brands, when I replaced these last time I used duralast. Those have been on for about 10,000 miles and two of them are already leaking.

Well I've been looking at KYB strut plus units. I've heard mostly good things about them.
