I have KYB Struts and my 2010 for expedition 2wd and I did not know that the factory struts/shocks lower spring perches came off. I had the dealership 4.5 years ago replace them and I was never told. So fast forward I go and buy Bilstein struts and pull everything apart and boom I can't install them.

I was either thinking about returning them and buy Ford factory struts that come with the lower sping perches or I found local auto wrecking yard has 2007 2wd and they are asking $300 for all 4 complete factory struts.

I was wondering if that was a good deal? I spend $449.18 shipping and taxes on rockauto for the bilsteins already and if I should spend another $300 on used struts just to part them or should I buy the Ford factory struts that come with the lower spring perches?

I attached somepictures I found of what the lower spring perche looks like and on factory strut and what it looks like on the bilstein struts.

So mad that the dealership didn't tell me to keep the factory struts lower spring perches/seat.

Side note: how did/do you like the KYB's?
When I first got them they were firm and solid no matter what pavement. I had over 125,000 on the original shocks/struts, but they were on back order at my local Ford dealership and RockAuto only had front and not rear. So I bought KYB front and rear.

I just drove in a friend's truck and he installed the bilsteins on 2014 Ford Expedition EL and they feel really good, so I bought them, but can't use them.

My truck now has over 230,000 and the shock/struts and done. The truck is setting basically on the springs and drives like a tank on wheels.

I'm in the same boat. Some previous owner put a Monroe quick strut on ONE SIDE in the rear, so now I'd have to buy a complete assembly from Ford only to toss the shock. Had Bilstein on my last expy and they were great.

I ordered this MOTORCRAFT ASH24732 from rockauto.com and used the lower spring perches and they fit just fine on the Bilstein 4600. Here is a code if you need it for rockauto.com (216124192147410393)

Thanks to @mjp2 again for the help......

Shout out again to @mjp2 again for the help with the lower sping perches. The truck drives like band new again. I also did a a transmission fluid drain and fill and used this new pan, gasket and Filter I bought off Amazon.com and did new spark plugs from Rockauto.com

The next thing on my list is a new engine and transmission when this once dies on me and then my wife and I can buy a new truck and give this one to my oldest son for high school.
