We recently went thru a swarm of bugs. I washed down the front end and apparently drowned one of the horns. So, I ordered a replacement, and had no idea how inaccessible it is. I really don't want to remove the bumper cover. I think I can remove the hood latch then loosen the top grill bolts and get enough room to remove the bolt and bring the new and old through the area below the boot catch. Is there another way I am missing? Thanks

Late reply but I swapped horns from a single tone to a dual horn and was able to do it through the hood latch opening. A real PITA though.

bryz_expy,
Out of curiosity, were the dual horns you installed Ford brand, or aftermarket? My horn is working fine for now, but the horn on one son's 2018 Raptor died on him. He never used it and it didn't show up until he was selling it and a mechanic inspecting it for a prospective buyer noticed it. He did wash his truck a lot and I suspect that the Ford horns don't handle moisture well.

Just replaced the horn on our 2018 Expedition Max Platinum... Figured out a way to sneak it out the bottom after unbolting some of the front grill / fascia / mounting brackets...

Hope this video helps, haven't seen any like it for the 4th gen Expy's

That's a great help...and very timely as I'm having same issue on our 2018, and getting ready to embark on this repair.
