2011 Gen III 5.4.3 engine, 77K: I'll preface by saying I don't believe in Santa, the Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny, or coincidences; with the latter bearing responsibility for this post. I just increased the air pressure in my tires considerably and a day later started her up to the pinging sound of the "Service Advancetrac" alert. I'm thinking something related to the TPMS system is the culprit here. Can anyone offer insight into this phenomenon? Thanks. BTW, a Ford dealership is the LAST place I would go for advice/service.

I’d have the vehicle scanned for any codes to point you in the direction for diagnosis.

You said you increased the air pressure in your tires considerably. Were they grossly under inflated, and you inflated them to the recommended pressure? Or have you increased the tire pressure considerably over the recommended pressure?

The former, then inflated to 42psi, just under max psi for Continental Extreme Contacts. Great tires BTW.

I have Continental tires on my 2015 Expedition Limited 4x4 and my wife's car. They are very good tires; perform and wear well.

Perhaps the extreme change in inflation pressure causes the computer to measure a change in rotation compared to the vehicle speed, causing the alert?

Have you driven the vehicle again since the warning, after shutting off the engine?

Ford recommends 35 psi cold-inflation for the tires on my Expedition (OE size).

Thanks for the tip. Methinks you hit the nail on the head. I'll readjust the pressure tomorrow and see what happens. Thanks a lot!
