Just a few quick notes on my experience so far.

Took delivery of my '22 Limited Max 302A with HD Tow and eLSD in mid June (ordered November 12, 2021). Immediately (next day!) drove 850 miles from Philadelphia to Northern Michigan (towing a 13' Boston Whaler). Took the car to Wisconsin for a weekend (~600 miles), drove it locally in N Michigan all summer, then back to Philadelphia in August (this time towing a 22' J/70 sailboat). Late August trips to Burlington, VT (500m) and New London, CT (250m) to take the kids back to school. Then the car sat, mostly (I am a bike commuter) until November, when I took it Philadelphia - Tampa (1100m) and back. At this point I have ~6200 miles on the odometer.

My overall impression so far is extremely positive. For what I use it for — long road trips, sometimes towing — it is ideal. Very comfortable highway ride, easy to drive. It just eats the miles away. The biggest upside surprise so far is the mileage and range — without towing I average about 22 to 22.5 mpg. This results in a range of about 600-675 miles per tank. Mileage takes a pretty good hit when towing, as you'd expect: with the Whaler, I got about 17mpg, and with the J/70 about 12-13.

The fit and finish of my car has been great. No rattles, except that the rear storage compartment lid would rattle a bit over big bumps. Fixed with a couple rubber bumpers.

I have added almost nothing to it so far. The Ford crossbars to hold a Yakima Rocketbox for future winter/ski trips. Also a catch can, which hasn't picked up a lot yet. I'm still running the OEM tires, keeping them at factory recommended 39psi.

Observations:

Driving tech. We have come from a series of Volvos, including a 2020 V60. The systems provide the same functions - adaptive cruise control, lane keeping, all the various emergency stopping and blind-spot systems. I would say the Volvo systems are slightly more refined -- the lane keeping on the Volvo is steadier, and requires less intervention than on the Expy. But the Expy does allow the adaptive cruise control to come to a complete stop and re-start, which is really nice for stop-and-go highway traffic. Overall, very happy.

Carplay/audio. This has worked flawlessly for me. I almost always have my phone on the wireless charger, which works great. One oddity is that although there is a 12v outlet on the passenger side, there's no USB port -- even those there are USB ports at all the other seats.

Seat comfort. I have found the seats to be very comfortable for long drives. The rear captains chairs fully reclined are an excellent place to nap when not driving.

Upgrades. I will probably get front and rear sway bars eventually. Probably new tires once I tire of the General Grabbers. Maybe a ceramic coating or PPF. Otherwise I think the car is exactly what I was looking for.

Happy to answer questions for those considering an Expy. (Or waiting on theirs!)

19 MAX with tow pkg. Maybe you drive slower than I do.. I drive a lot.. 80 MPH on the interstate... northwest PA and into Ohio. I get 18 ish MPG cruising down the interstate.. If I tow.. and maintain speed.. a small 12 foot v nose trailer, I drop to about 9 MPG. Hit my 2nd deer (both on I-79) with it 2 weeks ago.. the first one did little damage, but the 2nd one over $11,000.. And I was able to drive it home! Head light $1500.00
They do drive nice, ride nice.

Small world... I am waiting on a '23 Timberline to be built. Down-sizing from my 2022 F250 which I bought to tow a large center console and also a J/88 to regattas around the country. The SuperDuty tows like a champ but other than that, its pretty bad for a daily driver. Good luck with the 70.

Yes I drive slower. I've done a bit of experimenting and it seems like there is a huge drop in MPG on these things above ~72-73mph. And of course the big drop in MPG when towing anything. The vehicle is clearly engineered for optimal MPG at 60-70 mph and light weight. Totally reasonable design decisions, IMO. But outside of this range the MPG starts to look like other gigantic SUVs on the market.

Good to hear you like the vehicle. I am now at 10,000 miles from when I got my Limited mid June. I lost all sound last week and fault has been diagnosed as a faulty Digital Sound Processor. Thankfully part arrived today after being ordered Tuesday. Expect to get the vehicle back early next week (entire rear interior is disassembled). Dealer gave me a loaner (Escape Hybrid Titanium...decent car) so not inconvenienced.

That sounds very reasonable. I have noted the same thing in other vehicles as well - milage seems to get significantly worse above 70 MPH. That is borne out by physics as the power required to move an object through air is proportional to the cube of the velocity. So it starts to take a lot of power from the engine (meaning a lot of gas going into the engine) to move a brick through the air at higher speeds.

Very True. I am sure the Expy has a optimal speed for speed to mpg. Like airplanes have a predetermined glide speed for engine out which is the most distance to the least altitude lost.

I've had my 22 Limited Stealth since the end of April and have right at 4,500 miles on it. Have had very similar experience, all good. Thanks for posting the review!
