Did you take it to the dealership prior to February 1? It is a pretty bad dealer to not make you aware of customer satisfaction issues that are open on your car. Also, get the FordPass app. It will make you aware of things like this via the app.

Mine is in the shop right now getting CP replaced, covered.
I'm guessing they're goodwilling the time difference, as we bought it in September.
CSP 21N03
Looks like it's covered until 1/1/23 if the reflash was done prior to 2/28/22
PROGRAM TERMS
This program extends the warranty coverage of the engine cam phasers until January 1, 2023
provided the Repair Order (RO) date of Powertrain Control Module reflash under Customer
Satisfaction Program 21B10 occurs on or before February 28, 2022.
Ford will cover the repair or refund costs following the proration table below using the mileage shown
on the RO.

Surprised the post office didn't forward your mail if you submitted a change of address which forwards mail for a year (12 months).

The plot thickens. After investigating this morning, I was actually never sent the letter. I went to the dealer to talk to the service manager and he essentially said that nothing shows up when he enters my vin but he gave me instructions to talk to corporate. I called corporate and argued with the rep for 30 mins before getting it escalated. Here is what she told me.

She argued the whole time that my Expedition, with a build date in Jan 2019, was not covered. Here is the relevant section from the letter that I found online:

She read this off to me verbatim and told me that my build date, verified by the VIN on her end, did not fall in this range. I finally convinced her that January 2019 was in fact before November 2019 so she escalated it, and I am awaiting a call from her supervisor. Went back into the dealer and again talked to the supervisor who agreed that something odd is going on and is looking into it on his end as well.

I took my 2018 to the dealer to have CSP done during an oil change and it was listed as done on the work order. The next time I went to the dealer for an oil change I told the dealer at that time it had a phaser rattle. On the work order no mention of a phaser rattle, I asked why not, dealer said its normal. Next oil change reported phaser rattle. When I got the work order stated low oil reason for the phaser rattle. Next oil change reported phaser rattle. The dealer said we have no record you ever did the CSP. I told them the CSP is listed as done on the work order from last year. The dealer said no we flashed the PCM only. I told them yes that’s on the work order so is the CSP. This time when I picked it up they said they would replace the phasers. The truck has 43000 miles and is less than five years old so still under a power train warranty. I am waiting for a call from the dealer to tell me the parts are in.

Good lord, you had to argue that Jan 2019 fell within that date range? what a joke. Ford is just getting crushed right now with warranty outlays and recalls, it may be tough. I do hope they help you, it took me 9 months of arguing with Ford about other issues before they would agree to warranty repair them, and that was long before this recall, and now the half-a-million F150's they recalling. tough times ahead.

Between the last three posts (#15, 16 and 17), you can see why I'm done with FOMOCO. If I remember correctly, they will not cover it under powertrain. Also, if I remember, it's also once and done. If it has to be fixed again, it's on you. I really like my Expy, but it's getting real close for it to go. 42K miles and it's been a good vehicle, but Ford's terrible customer service, refusal to admit there's a issue is inexcusable. If anyone wants to buy it, PM me.

They did call me. Just told me there was no recall but it should be fixed. They quoted me 16 hours of labor but the CSB said it should only be 9.7 hours. I have two kids and this is our family vehicle. Wanted it fixed before traveling for the holidays so we are not left on the side of the road.
I have a 2016. Had the same cam phaser issue at startup. I had approximately 189k to 190k miles before I took my truck to FordTechMakuloco. He did much more for $4500 than just the dam phasers.

Stories like these are why I won't own another Ford without an extended warranty. Unfortunately we need the Expedition to tow our camper. But if there was an alternative I would definitely take it. These vehicles are too expensive to have these sorts of issues ongoing without suitable resolution.
