Folks,
Good afternoon, I am looking to get back into an Expy. I previously had a '18 Plat. Max. Loved it; had to trade it in for personal reasons a few years ago. I know what I had and know what I can afford now, for those that have pre-2021 would you choose your XLT again? Or would you choose a Limited or other package?

If you want can you share your reasons?

Wish I could have gotten my Limited with XLT suspension. Upgradeability would be nice.

Not knowing the difference at time of purchase, and with a $7K discount, my 2004 XLS is just fine for the sole purpose of loading up at Costco. At age 90 and crippled, Costco delivery is utilized, truck just sits (19,800 miles) with a batt tender. Cloth seats, and seats nine, if needed (never).

I wish I would have went Limited for my 2021. Envious of the Limited’s LED headlights, power lift gate, and CCD.

I have a limited and this will be my last expedition (and 1st) that I will ever buy unless they fix the phaser issues from factory AND the dumb turbo wastegate rattle

Upgraded from 2018 limited to 2020 nav (with others in btw), and we are very happy about it. Wanted a 22, but too many features are being taken away but Ford keeps increasing the price. Seats, quietness and ride are much better from ford to lincoln. My old expy didn't have ccd. Ford did handle better though. As much as I like 22 nav, we're very happy with ours.

I really like my 2018 XLT and would probably do it again. That said, I haven't ridden in a Limited or Platinum or other so I don't know what I'm missing! The XLT gives me the most payload/towing which is what I was after (and I could delete the sunroof which wasn't possible on the higher trims). I wish I had a premium sound system in mine, and heated/cooled 2nd row seats, and the cargo organizer in the back. I think that's about all the stuff I'm "missing"...

18 Max Limited here. No LED headlights, and just regular suspension, but enjoy the added features.
Not sure fi the XLT gets adaptive cruise, cooled seats, memory settings, NAV, bucket seats (2nd row).
Our company pool car is a 21 SWB XLT, haven't gotten any seat time in it yet apart from moving it into our warehouse. So I can't really compare the 2 yet.

I hope they start using LED projectors on the 2025 refresh. I had a 2022 Expedition Max Limited as a rental and I liked it a lot. I feel like the Limited trim had everything I thought was necessary. I don't see myself buying a higher trim - especially if those trims make 22" wheels as standard.

I have a limited and this will be my last expedition (and 1st) that I will ever buy unless they fix the phaser issues from factory AND the dumb turbo wastegate rattle

Isn't this issue fixed on the current 3.5L EcoBoost?

Yes, I would buy the XLT again. While it has a lot of luxurious elements, it's a truck. That's what I call it 'The Truck'. There's a few features that I'd like from the higher end models - typically, the LED headlights, but the 'extras' that come with that are not important enough, to me, to warrant the added cost (of course, I think the new ones have LEDs, perhaps I should have a look and see how tempting it might be...)
