Connected Car has their own toll free number: (866) 595-0191. When calling them it is helpful if you know the AT&T mobile number attached to your account (not your cellphone number).
Excellent information thank you.
This is a first time for me having a authorized retailer help with anything more than buying a phone.

Im going to be near a authorized retailer next week, lets see if i can get this valuable information.
Oh wait i have done this mutiple times (multiple locations) for mutiple different reasons (incuding this one) and have NEVER been able to get anything more than buying a phone/service.

I have NEVER walked out of a ATT ("COR") owned store without resloution.

Did you ever walk out with a tablet you hadn't intended on buying after a promise that didn't come true?

Going into a COR (Company Owned Retail) store might result in problems as their reps are under intense pressure for new ads vs. a transfer of VIN. If they do that instead of a transfer there could possibly be an unintended consequence that might chew up a lot of your time taking care of in the back end. How do I know these things? I was an Authorized Retailer for them for 20 years. Our stores always got way higher Mystery shop scores. The main reason for this is the adversarial relationship the bargaining unit- Union- has with management.

Btw, how much do you pay per month for this?
I think it's $20 a month and I get it from a store rep's perspective so I don't mind if they cancel the original line and add a new one as long as I don't get dinged for an activation fee. I worked in wireless for 15 years back in the good old days so I'm still somewhat familiar with the process... but I sent the wife in so I don't piss anyone off and have to deal with it... she's much prettier than me.

It is difficult to understand your post when you use numerous acronyms with your request.

It may help to spell out the acronyms, so people won’t speculate.
If you don't know what ESN, IMEI, or SIM mean, you shouldn't be answering the question. Kinda weeds out the speculation right away.

I went a different path when I switched. I canceled the previous car, and started the new one. Worked great. Did it all from my AT&T Connected car login, linked to from within my FordPass app. Have done it twice. 2017 Expedition traded in, Canceled, then activated 2020 Expedition. 2020 Explorer Traded in, Canceled, and activated 2021 F150. Worked great, no phone calls, and no store visits.

Rack rate is $25/mo. Pays to call and haggle. They were doing them for $10/mo. at one time a few years ago. I got $15/mo. about 6 months ago.

I am stating facts What are you talking about?
Resolution=what i walked in to fix was fixed. You need to quit assuming, I have never bought/got/used any devices from ATT, only service.

I believe you now, you were a authorized retailer.

Love sarcasm, especially from a Site Team member! I'm not assuming anything; just asking a legitimate question, because I heard yes from many people that went in for a simple service related question and got talked into increasing their monthly bill with something they really didn't want. Your first comment in this matter was telling the OP to go to a COR store and NOT an Authorized Retailer. I am just giving perspective to those who have been fed a lot of propaganda and even slander by COR employees towards their "Agent Partners". Statements like "that store isn't a real AT&T store"- even though we had the sign and contract to offer ALL AT&T services.

On a somewhat related topic- thank God Wireless Advocates inside Costco went Kaput!

There is more than one reason why T's stock is in the toilet, however IMO the #1 reason is because people don't believe them.
