Update:

I stopped by the dealership to get all my stuff out of the vehicle. I’m operating on the hopes that I will never see this thing again but I don’t know if that will happen or not.

The dealership has a very large shop and it’s immaculate and every bay was in use. The service rep was really great and very forthcoming. He showed me several cars that have been waiting on various parts, many trans related, for weeks to months.

We went through my vehicles entire service history, a lengthy one with items even I had forgotten, it was a stroll down memory lane that I would have preferred to be shorter and filled with something other than random repair after repair.

The transmission has been worked on a few times, some reprogramming and some valve body stuff.. idk. Theres also been a constant complaint when in excite or 4x4 of the vehicle skipping, it’s been in several times and never resolved. Possibly related, who knows.

Service rep said it’s possible they over filled when doing multipoint inspection and it just vented out when crossing the mountains. Again, idk. Temps got to 240… not catastrophic but hotter than I’ve ever encountered in this vehicle.

It’s going to be weeks before they have more info. They have one main trans tech and the supervisor who is also a trans tech… mine got assigned to the supervisor guy, idk if this is good or not.

I’m going to have to beg, borrow, or steal a loaner from Lincoln. I am not happy about this. We paid to extend the Lincoln concierge service through out the duration of the extended warranty and service plan. They should be giving me similar vehicle to mine but this has only happened one time and that navigator was recently purchased at auction (auction writing still on glass) and the tires were shot. One time they gave me a nautilus and none of the forward lighting was functional… no headlamps or directional lights. Idk who didn’t check the lights after the massive warning popped up in the cluster but they drove that pos to my house anyway and left it for me to drive my kids around in…. Good times.

Anyway, I’ll continue to update this thread and respond to anyone who comes to share their stories of disappointment and dissatisfaction. I’m not one to dwell on the negative but sometimes sh*t talking about the cause on enormous consternation can be cathartic.

Were you able to get a decent loaner?

Unfortunate, man. I'm 14 days out just for cam phaser diagnosis/replacement, lol. Been in a Ford Fusion for a couple days now...

Update 1/8:

1/4 I called Lincoln concierge and got a really helpful individual who reached out to the dealership and was told the same thing I was…4-6 weeks and that they are just now getting to Novembers repairs. Funny thing on this call is she first called my home dealership and was really confused until she realized that my car was in for warranty work the day before the breakdown. Anyway, I digress.

She suggests another dealership to which I say “that’s what I suggested before it went to where it is now but Lincoln said no because of the cost”. She said she would call around local to me dealerships and find one that would take it and see if Lincoln would cover the bill.

I then suggested they just buy the thing from me so they don’t have to pay to transport and they can fix it whenever… she is having this reviewed, verdict to be delivered 1/10 and I’m betting on a hard “NO”.

She calls me back as promised on 1/7 and says she found a Ford dealership that can get it into repair bay on 1/12 and that they will cover the transport cost of $1300.

To get a loaner it has to be at a local dealer so hopefully it will arrive soon and I can get something, otherwise I will have to rent and they reimburse.

We put a deposit down on a ‘23 Sienna Platinum AWD which will be delivered 2/16. At this point I hope the Navi is repaired in time for me to trade it in or that they buy it and I’m done. Even if they fix it I’m not driving it until my trade in, I don’t trust it.

Just saw a story on Motorbiscuit today about how 2018 F-150's were to be avoided used.

All I can say is the American car ain’t what it used to be and it’s a sad, embarrassing, state of affairs.

I really hate how everything is blamed on covid but I don't think anything foreign or domestic is safe right now. I know your Nav was pre-covid but the service, support, and parts are all still affected by covid. I think its a crappy excuse but its facts of life. I have issues with equipment we sell that is foreign and domestic, some companies suck at taking care of the end user and some are good. I've been dealing with one manufacturer (just sent the VP and email actually) that has been terrible to work with, I've been dealing with the issue for 6 months now and they can't get it resolved. Their entire sales and support staff changed during covid and now they are terrible to work with. I can only imagine that the same garbage is happening everywhere right now.

While its very unfortunate, when you were getting quick quality service you were liking your Nav pretty good. Once the quick and quality service disappeared its no longer so fun. I know you picked up a yota and I hope you have better luck there! My FIL's Highlander has been to the shop more than all my vehicles combined and they hardly use the highlander. I mean one time they picked it up and the guy told them he didn't know if he got the issue fixed and to come back if it was still doing it. They didn't make it home before turning around. I don't know that you are safe with any manufacturer right now.
