I was just told don’t bother adjusting the rack with the screw to just have it be replaced. What do you all think?

Part of the issue with adjusting them is that the wear is usually just around center. Turn either way to near lock and see if there's any play, I bet there isn't. Since there is play at center and not further out you will snug it up at center, but then it can be too tight and bind everywhere else.

The good news is that it's a pretty easy rack to replace. It's a good time to swap the power steering lines as well. For the cooler lines there's only rubber at the cooler so I just cut the original hose off and clamped new sections back on cheap and easy. Carefully cut through the hood that retains the original hose and there's a flare on the pipe so you're good to go with a clamp.
