My 08 EB VIN 1FMFU18548LA55397 is having issues... when its cold out its worse but it still does it when warm... it will go down at what I think is a normal speed but coming up its REALLY slow... worse when cold.
I have tried shooting some silicone spray lube in the tracks and it helps a little.
I'm trying to figure out if it is a motor that is weak or a regulator issue. So before I pull it apart I want to have a new regulator and motor on hand but the options I have for the motor are 2 pin or 8 pin connector... how do I figure this out without taking it apart?
Also does anyone have any recommendations on how to figure out if its a motor or regulator issue?

Did you search for a replacement using your truck’s VIN, or simply looked for window regulators.

There are online Ford part’s search engines that allow you to enter the VIN, so you can determine specific part’s applications. Your Ford dealer could also look up the part via your VIN.

I don’t know how to figure out 2 or 8 pin applications, other than check via VIN (or disassemble).

Yes I did look up the VIN on the ford parts web page... it gives both 2 & 8 pin as options

Driver's side is 8 terminal ( AL7Z-7823394-B ) . Passenger side is 2 terminal ( 8L1Z-7823395-A ) .

If it's original parts in there I would replace everything. With Motorcraft parts, NOT Dorman crap ....

I replaced mine and found an "open box" Motorcraft one on Amazon for $80. The regulator replaces every moving part. Mine was also slow going up, especially when cold. If you are brave, the entire assembly is made up of wires and pulleys. You can probably degrease and clean up the old one to work well and save the money on a replacement. It removes as one big unit. They just get all gummed up.

It's a simple job to replace.

Just replaced my passenger side front regulator, was groaning and straining. Not a tough job, got regulator from rock auto, was $69. Found the cable has some broken strands. Did not buy motorcraft, didn't see point on a 16 year old truck.
