I watched the J&L install video. They show how to move the tab on the factory fitting to pop them off, but not quote clearly. Going to install it later today.Did anyone have a tip for @zak99b5 ? I'm going to be doing this too and am curious for tips before I get in there.
I also had trouble getting the engine cover to fit properly without it pushing down onto the pcv valve fitting/hose. I had to trim that area under the cover. I used a utility knife to carve out the foam. Cover fits perfect now. Thankfully the covers are made of foam and not hard plastic.Installed the catch can today. Dropped the second speed clip, never to be retrieved, when I was drilling the second hole a little larger. Drill bit fell down the abyss as well lol.
Luckily, they also supply nyloc nuts, so nbd.
Old (stock) hose came off fine. Did the valve cover end first so I could rotate the intake end to get better access to the tab side.
Tried a few ways of routing the hoses so I could refit the stupid engine cover. They seemed a little long for the application. Hose to valve cover fitting I snaked under a boost pipe. On the intake the elbow has to face toward the rear. I did manage to get the cover back on, but it is being pushed up a bit by the hoses. Thinking this spring I'll remove the cover and trim away on the underside where it's contacting the hoses.

I have pictures of how I trimmed the cover and routed the hoses in post 29 of this thread. https://www.expeditionforum.com/thr...is-needed-on-gen-4-s.44852/page-3#post-412160Installed the catch can today. A Expedition Raptor would be cool tho. Maybe a high output 3.5 Ecoboost, duel (w/ dual tip) performance exhaust, high flow intake, bigger MAF, raptor style body accents, Big brembo brakes with red calipers etc.J&L catch can, Raptor engine cover, and Gorilla solid lug nuts today. Added at least 10HP, LOL. And yes, it's filthy. It was nice out today, but not get-the-hose-out nice.
