My 07 always had to rely on ABS much less in 4High than in 4Auto when driving on compacted ice, big difference in braking distance between the two. I’m not ecstatic that it’s not available on all of them.

Suburban reacts the same way between auto and high.

I think Mud and Ruts selects high, but it’s not as user friendly as just giving you a selection for high range around the dial.

Yep. A single speed. And no tow stuff on the back btw. Ah well. The search continues. I’m in no hurry.

Sent you a message on a new/factory build coming up with hd tow. Unclear if you’re looking for new/used.

They all come with a tow package but two versions. The standard is 6000lbs max that’s typically found in the trucks with the 3.31 and AWD only setup no 2spd transfer case.

The heavy tow package is 3.73 rear end, 9200lb max, two spd transfer case, rear elocker etc.

Be warned dealers have a bad habit of selling people the standard for more $$ to buyers thinking they are getting the non mini van heavy tow Expedition, when they aren’t.

Several incorrect parts of your statements above. The Expedition does not have AWD, it has 4A. It is Automatic 4WD. AWD typically means some power to all wheels all the time, and can't be turned off. That is not the case for the Expedition. Normal operation is 2WD(RWD), and ZERO torque/power going to the front. Only difference between the 2 4WD systems in the Expedition is whether you can press a button to fully engage 4WD on demand, and the existence of a Low Range.

There is NO E-Locker in the Expedition. That implies a pin lock forcing both rear wheels to spin the same speed. The Expedition(if Equipped) has an ELSD(Electronic Limited Slip Differential) that has a simulated Lock mode. In that mode engaged by pressing the button the Electronically engaged clutches apply pressure to simulate a locked rear end. It is not meant for heavy use, as is the E-Locker found in the F150/F250.

I have an 18 MAX with heavy tow pkg the 4 x 4 has high / low. just dont be surprised when your fuel mpg drops to 10 mpg when towing. 18 -- 19 normal.. but much better when not traveling 80 mph
