Hi:

I have a brand new Timberline 2023 and am trying to wrap my old, senile brain around the fancy new technology.

The 2023 Expedition Quick Reference Guide (on page 5) lists the "Hill Descent Control (please see 1st three attached pictures, the 1st 2 from that guide, and the third a pixellated picture of what the Hill Descent Control button should look like from the Owner's Manual).

But the actual button on the drive console looks quite different (please see 4th picture).

Did they change the button for the Hill Descent Control, or is that button representing something else? If so, what? And if so, where is the button for the Hill Descent Control?

Many, many thanks!

In your picture of the Drive Mode dial it’s the bottom left button. In the Timberline it’s a Trail Control, which includes setting trail speed (up, down or flat) and the one-peddle thing (give gas to go, let off gas to stop). To activate the Trail Turn Assist (locking of inside rear wheel with steering wheel cranked) you need to go to the giant iPad and turn it on there. Other models have different setups so that’s why the manual is confusing. You set your trail speed with the cruise control, and cancel with the cruise control as well (Brake Peddle won’t shut it off once speed is set).

Hope this helps,
Jeff

Great answer! Thank you very much for clearing this up! I just read all the text in the Owner's Manual re Trail Control and Trail Turn Assist. Much appreciated.
