I noticed some staining or corrosion on the chrome strip below the rear window with "Expedition" logo on it. I washed it with car wash soap with no luck. I tried a non scratch scrubber and it didn't make any difference. The other chrome on the truck is fine. It is a 2018 with less than 5000 miles. I've owned it since new. Here's a pic:

Thats not cool. Take it back to the dealer. I'm sure they will clean it or replace it.

Yeah something got on there and reacted with that. Should be covered under warranty

OP lives in Colorado, could it be whatever they put on the road out there to melt the snow and ice?

I have the same issue on my Expedition and F150. I was told white vinegar and some buffing will remove it.

Yeah that’ll remove the chrome overlay completely if you aren’t careful

I'd try non-abrasive chrome polish, like blue magic. It worked for similar blemishes that showed up on our Escalade's chrome a couple years ago.

happens all the time here in Colorado. Has a lot to do with the MagCl they use on the roads. The issue has become far more common when everyone has shifted to chrome laminated plastic, actually chromium plated steel fared better for sure. Sometimes I can clean them up well with a microfiber cloth and some bar keeper's friend. Just don't get too much of it on the painted parts, it strips off clear coat pretty well.

My previous Jeep got it pretty bad on the grille. Bar keepers friend worked well. You don't need much, just a light polish with it.
