Moderator - I DID search for suspension upgrades and found they are few and far between, especially for newer units. So if any fellow Expedition owners have discovered a good moderate suspension upgrade for a 2017 (non airbag) I would love to hear from you. I just came out of a very tight and nimble Toyota 4Runner and now I feel like I am driving the Love Boat. This marks the third Expedition I've owned and a plethora of Ford products - after spending 25+ years in Ford service I'm just a little biased on them. All I'm looking for is a little tighter/firmer suspension to feel the road better - nothing crazy just a little improvement over OEM. Thanks!

At the top of the forum sections there are threads we call stickys. Those threads are put there because they are a hot topic. (there are stickys in each section)
The very first sticky in the 3rd gen section could be useful.

Bilstein 5100 shocks.

Maybe Hellwig sway bars. Expedition rear sway bars come in 3 different sizes. The Hellwig bar isn’t too significantly bigger than the biggest Expedition bar.

Thanks for the tip. I've been in a number of forums these last few years and always see the "Stickys" and had zero idea what they meant, Good to know..

Do you happen to know the various part numbers for those factory sizes?

No. I have a PDF with alot of the specs of the Expedition and it has the sizes in there. No part numbers though.
Gotcha, does that PDF happen to list the possible year ranges or trim packages they came on?

It doesn’t. I’m guessing the tow package got the bigger sway bar, but that’s purely a guess. I’ll try to get it uploaded.

That would make sense, I'll go out and measure the diameter of my 2017 EL with max tow and see how it compares.

I'm looking for suspension upgrades as well, but for slightly different reasons.

Old truck was a 2003 Ford Excursion Limited with a 6.8L V10 engine. I could put a house behind the thing and wouldn't even know it was there... Heaviest load I've towed was over 9k lbs. Too much tongue weight? Don't care. Too little tongue weight? Don't care. It ALWAYS towed anything I put behind it.

New truck is a 2012 Expedition EL Limited. Handles a LOT better than the Excursion when unloaded... But when I'm towing ANYTHING, I know it's back there. Trailer's slightly off? I know about it.

I tow cars a lot. I have a tandem axle car hauler.
Load the car forwards or backwards. Pull the car all the way forward or leave it a little towards the back... Excursion didn't care. Expedition DOES care. I've gotta get the car perfectly centered. I've gotta get the weight just right.

I tow the single axle 3500 lb Cub Scout camp trailer for my kids' pack. If someone loads all the firewood on one side or puts the camp stove off center, I know it.

I don't like that.
