Good morning,
Some of us were talking Pirelli Scorpions in previous threads last fall and some were concerned with wear and mileage based on previous Pirelli’s.

I have 46000 miles on these in the last 11 months and all 4 are still at 7/32nds.
75% highway miles.

The real question is: at what tread depth do we lose most of the traction and siping performance.

But ‘till then, absolutely loving these tires.

I don't have as many miles as you on my set of pirellis but I agree they are holding up well.

I will never buy Hankook tires for any vehicle after riding on the stock 22s

Considering these are rated for 70k, probably a little early to call it, but that's already better than I got out of either set of Scorpion STR tires I had (rated at 65k, all down to 2/32 or less by 32-38k).

I just put these on my 22 Platinum. Too early to tell on how they will wear. Pirelli got a bad reputation on wear with their Scorpion Zero tires. You were lucky to get 20K miles on those. The newer Scorpions (Verde's and AS+3's) wear well!!!

Wanted to see if anyone had any updates on their experience long term. I’m looking to pull the trigger on the Pirelli Scorpion All Season Plus 3. My Expedition currently has the General Grabber HTS60 tires. I want a less bumpy ride and better traction on dry/wet roads which Pirelli should help with. I live in Texas so I don’t drive on snow or ice, just want a safe and comfortable ride.

Online many tout the Michelin Defender LTX or Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3 and after doing research Pirelli seems to be the best on paper. Any thoughts would be really appreciated!

Here’s a side by side from Tire Rack:

For mostly highway use the Michelin Defender is still my preferred tire. Great wear (higher than the rated mileage every time), great handling in dry and wet, mediocre snow performance.

I don't think you could go wrong with the Pirellis or Michelins. I have the Pirelli Verde Scorpions AS/2 for 10k now and can’t even see any loos of tread depth yet although I really don’t drive the truck very hard at all. Another thing to consider is what each Manufacturer gives for a tire Warranty. Pirellis did have a bad rap for tires years ago from sidewall impact bubbles and now has one of the longest warranties.

Since you brought up the warranty, I wanted to share my experience with Pirelli's warranty. Their warranty states that the tires can be replaced at any authorized Pirelli dealer. The reality is that most dealers won't do it. When I tried to get my Pirellis replaced for premature treadwear, I was turned away again and again and every Pirelli dealer told me the same thing: Pirelli looks for any and all reasons to deny warranty claims so we won't do a warranty replacement for their tires. I finally found success at Sam's Club. The manager told me they are one of Pirelli's biggest dealers and Pirelli approves nearly everything for them. Next time my Pirellis wore prematurely I went straight to Sam's and no issues. In short, make sure you have a place that will honor the Pirelli warranty when you buy them.

I just put some on our nav, as3s. It maybe too soon, so far put about 1500 miles on em, but they do run a lil hard. It doesn't filter small stuff on the road as I'd like but it still maybe some new tire stiffness.

On a happier note, looking to purchase my22 22in stealth wheels to put on my our nav.
