Hello,
My 2023 Expy 4x4 XLT is due to be built Feb 27, so probably mid-March I'll receive it.

I want to swap from my 2022 F150 my wheel/tires. (20" rims, 275/65r20-34" recon grapplers)

I'm hoping a lift of approx 1.5" rear, 2" front will allow that. The Bilstein 5100 Expy specific rears for the rear, and possibly the Bilstein 6112 front coilovers for the F150 set at stock to hopefully net 2" lift.

Has anyone actually seen the 6112s work on the Expy?

Thanks for any guidance -

There was a member here with a 3rd Gen who ran the 6112 kit on his and said it felt great everywhere except while towing, simply "too soft". The springs Bilstein sends with the kit are 500lb and there are no off the shelf alternatives to them. They will fit fine however, just a bit softer than what you have now. Could be a good thing or bad thing depending on what you'll be doing with it.

You can always put some helper bags on the back for Towing

That's interesting. The 6112 kit for the 14th Gen F150 includes ~600 lbs springs and is stiffer than the factory front springs of ~500 lbs.

Strange - the only 6112 "kits" all have the front 6112 coilovers and 5100 rear struts. I didn't think the fronts would make much difference in towing, and the rears are the oem springs with different struts.
Just watched the shocksurplus comparisons between the 6112 and 5100 fronts- for my on-road 95% driving maybe the 6112s are overkill. But there's always the boyscout prepared for anything mentality!
If I were to tow much, for sure airbags. My old sequoia had them OEM and they were awesome.

Aftermarket implementations of airbags are not as common on vehicles with independent rear suspension as they are on vehicles with a live rear axle.

You can't use bags on a 3rd or 4th Gen Expedition, it's a coilover rear strut.

The front does a lot more than people think when towing, so you will absolutely notice if one end is softer. If that 14th Gen kit is 600lbs, then that could very well be a great option, if it's compatible.
