I know there's some folks on here that have access to fancy parts and repair manuals. the cover doesn't appear to have a valid part number on it, and after searching several of the Ford parts sites, it almost looks like you have to replace the entire seat belt receiver, which just blows my mind that this plastic is so janky, and you can't just replace the cover. Anyone have any other thoughts? I believe the entire receiver is part number JL1Z-7860045-AE, as I have a platinum with the ambient lighting. Here's the thing, the parts only around $30+ shipping, so it's not about the money, it's that it looks like it could be a huge PITA to replace with it only having one bolt, but I probably will have to remove the side covers but it's hard to do between the seats. The other issue that concerns me is that this has the inflatable outer seatbelts (and this is the second row drivers side seat), so do I have to go through a whole discharging procedure for the SRS system just to replace the receiver?

the whole thing that really stinks here, is I was going to take this in for a few things right before my 36k bumper to bumper ran out, but I didn't even realize I hit the 3yr mark... So now I would need to pay the $100 deductible.

i'd glue it back together until the next issue arises, then have it replaced with the same $100 deductible.

i was looking at that, but it's held together with these tiny little plastic tabs about 2mm sq. you can see them on the left piece in the photo, completely sheered off. my luck I will try to glue it and ruin the buckle.

My second row passenger seat belt buckle cover also got loose (there is little freedom of movement for the second row) and the cover parted when moved side to side. I ended up glueing them back together has been fine since.

Yes it will be tricky since there is very little space to work around. I suggest lacing some glue on one side; slide it in and then bring the other piece together. I held mine in place with a ton of elastic bands while it cured. I used a generic gummy type superglue that did not instantly dry.

this gets even better, definitely can't order the plastic, you have to order the entire buckle but apparently these have an "explosive" charge in that is triggered during an accident, so the buckles can't be shipped. Good god, if something is that difficult, why the HE-LL can't Ford make the plastic a little more durable.

not to mention this now screams a future takata issue, is the buckle gonna send shrapnel into passengers hips...

oh, and the proper part number for this, was apparently JL1Z*7860045*FE.

Yes, yes they do, but I couldn't even get electrical tape wrapped around it since its recessed so far into the seat cushion. no way to wrap anything around it. I just put two zip ties on it (black color of course) cinched down real tight, Did the trick for now.

My 2018 Limited with captain chairs, seat belt cover on left side broke. I glued two different times. It was challenging to get access. Later I had my dealer replace under warranty, did not get any push back and have not had another problem. My truck does not have the inflation seat belt option, which sounds like resulting in an easier repair.
