Stuck on the side of the road with transmission leak, any suggestions?

Love the 200 series. If it had a smidge more cargo room and 2nd row captains, we’d have one. Loved our 80 series and both 100s we had. They are truly built to another level.
Agree on the size. The 200 series is doable but the extra room in the navigator was really nice so the Sienna made sense for its replacement. It must have been tough having the 80, then your 100 series then to go to the Ford platform. If we had more parking room I fear I’d be looking for a 40 series. Truly addictive vehicles lol

Does the Yukon run the GM variant of the 10R80 trans that the expedition has? I’m fairly sure that trans was a joint venture. At least you get a V8, I feel like the never ending quest for better MPG is ruining ICE.
Yes, it has the same transmission. I'm just hopeful they've worked out most of the issues by now. The Yukon shifts feel quicker and a little crisper than my Expy, but maybe that's just because it's still new. I have the 6.2L engine and love the sound and feel of the V8. I'm getting about 2mpg less than the Expy, but hopefully that'll improve as it breaks in. I really liked the EcoBoost except for the cam phaser and turbo repairs, but I assume the pushrod V8 will be more reliable and easier to work on in the long run (as long as I don't have lifter failures like some of the earlier years).

Yall got me scared. My nav has 72k miles on it, but it runs nearly perfect, no engine clatter, trans has small delay cold sometimes, but smooths put after, suspension is smooth, everything works as intended (except phone as a key, the keyless entry, and sometimes the media connection), I need it to run trouble free until 150k miles.

You're going to have different programming on the Yukon. I believe most of the differences in feel that you will experience will be because of that.

My 80 was my favorite vehicle ever. Should have never sold it. It was a LExus LX450, actually......Bought it used for dirt cheap because the guy didn't know what he had. I had the interior re-done, kept it for a few years and then upgraded to an '06 100 series, which we immediately regretted as we liked the 80 better. It came up for sale a couple years ago but had rotted away and I didn't need a huge project at that point. I think we went from that 100 series to an AWD Sienna, then a 13 Burb, then a 14 Escalade......and we've had SUVs ever since. :)

The Burb I just sold ('22 LT with 5.3/10 speed) was undoubtably smoother shifting than the Ford version.....the GM trans was flawless for 10k miles, never hiccupped even a little.

Super silky shifts typically take life off the transmission, they do not add. To achieve smooth shifts you are allowing the clutches and converter to slip before engagement, effectively wearing on the clutch material in particular the converter lockup clutch. It’s like sliding two pieces of sandpaper against each other before pressing them together. That sandpaper wears out a lot faster than if you just press it and lock it together hard. This is why GM loses torque converters by 80k lol. Yes they shift smooth, but the lockup clutch is worn smooth and can no longer lockup before 100k and all of a sudden you can’t pass inspection because of a CEL.

They figure us typical stupid consumers will get wooed by a smooth shift rather than longevity. Different approaches, hence why GM and Ford use totally different software…they have totally different goals.
