Hi All

Need advice on putting CarPlay in my 2014 Navigator.

Truck is in great shape, has relatively low mileage and the only thing that appears dated to me is the radio. I've read up on the Cynlabs route and I'm not convince it will work, but if someone here has done it on their 2014 would love to here about your experience.

Also was thinking about just swapping out the head unit but I don't want to cut the dash (Screen size does not bother me) so would love a few recommendation from anyone who has swapped their head unit and did not lose and functionality (IE. steering wheel controls/phone mic, etc)

Thanks,

Chris

Bought this from Crutchfield. No cutting of the dash (I think that was only a 1st gen thing). Steering wheel controls, back up camera (in mirror), i think the rear entertainment still works (although I think that’s the dumbest thing), sub still works.

I have a 2016 Expedition. It didn’t come with CarPlay. I just swapped out the USB port in the center console for one out of a 2018 Ford Focus. Plugged in my phone, and bam!!! Apple CarPlay. Not sure if the 2014 has the ability to recognize the USB port.
