Deep sleep would be wonderful. Expeditions, Explorers, and all Fords have been doing this forever! :)

When I'm leaving mine at the airport I disconnect the battery or the car will be dead in a week or two. I've used a device called Priority Start which disconnects the battery when the voltage gets too low on two vehicles and it works fine but the device doesn't last more than a few years.

Never leave anything plugged into the 12v outlets 'cuz they're hot all the time unlike my other cars which run these thru the ignition. A simple GPS or radar detector will drain the battery quickly.

I'm on my 3d battery in my current Expedition...

Strange, my radar shuts down so it seems the power shuts off to the 12v outlets in mine. And it doesn't even power up during remote start, I need to hit the start button to get it to turn on.

Perhaps fixed in later models. My former '02, '07, and current '17 all leave the "cigarette" outlets hot. Pretty sure the Home Link is hot all the time too so anyone breaking into my Expedition sitting in my driveway can also open my garage door. :(

That is one reason why I haven't set up homelink in the Expy yet. I'll test it at some point to see if they changed that.

For what it's worth in not experiencing any of those issues and have run the battery to a low level once when getting the vehicle tinted. At night it is parked in a garage and left unlocked.
