That's your's. :) Curious about @acul1977 who's asking it he can/should do this. They're not all the same.

Thumbs up, being he mentioned 2019-2021, my guess is he is shopping an Expy. I did test drive an Expy without Pano and 1840lbs. Either way, there isn’t an Expy on the planet that will fulfill what he’s looking to accomplish. He needs an Excursion.

all the weights that I have posed are at the maximum. If there's a chance tjat will work to the max, it'll work with less weight, that's for sure. But the question remains. Will this work with 7 persons (200lbs each) and a full trailer (GVWR = 7700lbs)?
No, not legally. If your payload is 1,700 lbs and you subtract 1,400 lbs for the people that leaves only 300 lbs for the trailer tongue weight and weight distribution hitch (WDH). You need between 10 and 15 percent hitch weight for stability. That would be 770 - 1155 lbs at the GVWR weight plus 50-100 lbs for the WDH. So no not even close to possible with those numbers.

There are two different limits involved - towing capacity and gross weight maximum. The towing capacity is Lenny to pull that trailer. But the gross weight is not going to make it. The tongue weight of your trailer will be between 500 and 800 points depending on the cargo and where it is loaded. That tongue weight plus your people will easily exceed your cargo maximum in the vehicle itself. So this will not work.

No expedition can tow with that many people in the car. Most have trouble with 2. If you are already at 1400lbs, you have very little room for tongue weight of trailer (dry) plus batts, gas, hitch and any other cargo (purses, bags, food, toys, ipads, phones, water, etc). Expeditions have very low payload capabilities (1400-1700lbs) compared to their immense towing capabilities unfortunately

I’d take a long hard look at an NV3500 passenger as the payload is more like 2500lbs and the towing & tongue weight capacities are in-line with your needs. They’re a lot cheaper, too

I get awfully tired of seeing repeated postings of "it's illegal to exceed the numbers on your door sticker". No it isn't. If you feel otherwise, go ahead and post the federal law that says so. Someone might use that fact in a civil lawsuit, say you exceed your hitch's capacity and it snaps, your trailer careens off into the other lane and kills someone. Sure, then it's a factor, but it is not actually illegal to do that. So, let's see those federal laws!
Note: We are not talking about the federal laws that govern vehicle and trailer weights in relation to what CDL class (A,B,C) of license you have to have.

Here’s the penalties for the state of Illinois… most states have similar penalties for non-CDL vehicles… go to page 8
