I've got a 22 Limited Stealth. I've got a lockbox for a firearm that I had in my F-150. In the F-150, I found a good mounting point behind the rear seat and was able to conceal the box in the storage compartment under the seat. I've not yet found a good mounting point/hiding area in the Expedition yet. I thought maybe behind the third row, in the storage compartment, but I don't see anywhere to attach the cable. Anyone have any suggestions? I've attached a picture of a similar lockbox and steel cable tether for reference. (I would only be using the lock box in instances where it is illegal to carry, but the box still needs to be tethered and hidden from view.)

I thought about it, but I already have the lock box (took it out of my F-150 when I traded it in. I may have to take a serious look at it if I can't figure anything else out.
I'm not well versed in this, but I think you may be safer if you find a spot in the rear of the Expedition. I thought there were places that require the locked gun to be out of reach of the driver - but please research this and don't assume my comment is fact. I live in one of these counties that don't allow carry *sighs*

I can carry while in and while driving the vehicle. I only need to worry about locking it if I am entering an establishment where concealed carry is not allowed.

In My area they specifically call out that you must have it locked and that the locking Glove Box or Console are not allowed.

I use the same box and ran the cable thru the second row seat frame . Most of the time the second and third row seats are down flat and the lock box is totally out of site.

I got the Console Vault for my 2007 via a friend in the US Secret Service where they could get them as overruns from a government contract. Console Vault in my 2017 now has a Ford logo on the cover!

These are pretty secure. Several years ago I noted someone tried to pry the lid open in the box in my 2007. Managed to slightly spring the lid but it didn't open. Valet parking?

I keep a backup in a box like that secured in the underfloor cargo tray. I think I have the cable through one of the pieces that holds the jack in place, pretty solid but I remember it was tough to get in there in a way I still had access to the jack. Good for a backup, would suck to have to dig in there everytime I just had to go into the bank or bar.
I'll try to remember to post a picture once I get my Expy back from the shop (sad story). (And no, the gun isn't in there with it in the shop).

I gotta comment on this picture too, I know it isn't yours, but no way is that box closing with a load of 38 spc stored vertically like that :gr_guns:
