Does anyone know if a 2018 Ford F-150, 4x4, floor shift, transmission will fit into a 2018 Ford Expedition, 4x4? Can’t find a concrete answer anywhere.

Thank you!

It would physically fit (bellhousing to engine and crossmember) but many of the F150’s have a a cable that runs to the trans for the shift position where as the expeditions are electronically shifted so that will be a problem.

Many F-150s have either have a column shifter or console shifter not sure if they have cables though. I don’t think they do, because a lot of F-150 guys have been deleting the console shifter and putting in the Column Shifter because it frees up so much space in the center console and has all the same modes and functionality. I believe it’s all electronic.

I think your right. I don’t see any place on the tranny where there’s a linkage where a cable would go to. It must be all electronic.

The 2 part numbers are different
Expedition is: JL1Z-7000-F
F150 is: JL3Z-7000-F

I can’t seem to find what the actual difference is between the 2. The f150 transmission already has the expedition valve body on it, expedition bell housing and Torque Converter.
If that helps any.

Hi all, check out these pictures from the Ford repair manual.

Some F150’s do have a cable from the column. Expeditions and F150’s with electronic shift by wire have the linkage bolted shut like the first pic.

Then some have the below which runs to the column and locks the car in park.

If you have the above and column shift with cable, some of these parts below internally that work via the valve body and electronically auto shift the trans to park would be different inside the trans so it won’t exactly bolt in and program to the car and work.

Here’s a pic of the column type set up.
