I have a 2017, and noticed that when it’s in Manual mode going downhil without my foot on the gas, the transmission repeatedly revs slightly causing it to lurch. The tachometer is around 2000 and quickly goes up to 2200 and then back down again. I’ve noticed it in all gears except first (haven’t tried that yet).
It doesn’t happen when it’s in Drive mode.

Any ideas?

Sounds like it is trying to downshift. Can you see which gear it is in (should be displayed on the left MFD) when it does that?

Five-year / 60,000 mile power train warranty still in effect? If so, return to the dealer for evaluation.

I have had this very same issue for the last 10 months. I use my 17 off-road very often and use the manual mode going downhill. It often will lurch until the engine/transmission warm up, where upon it will stop lurching. I did have it in and of course, the technician could not repeat the lurch. Still under the powertrain warranty, so will get it in when I can.

Had the same problem in the mountains last week. 2016 expedition. I’m going to have the transmission serviced with a new drain and fill. Truck is approaching 90k miles.

Did the transmission service help the issue? I've been experiencing the same problem. Its hard to replicate as it seems like it only happens when the tranny is cold

Seems to happen if I am in tow/haul mode too when the transmission is cold. Once it get above 110 or so, its fine. So weird
