It’s most likely a thermostat but check the coolant level and if OK, feel the upper and lower radiator hoses while it’s running hot. If the lower is much colder, then the T stat is not opening to allow coolant flow. If you’re low on coolant, there could be a leak someplace. Ford does have an updated thermostat with a plastic inner sleeve that works really well for these.

220f is not really a "too high" temp for these though. I wouldn't worry too much at 220f.

The newer transmissions are designed to run hotter than what was traditionally normal.

From an actual transmission engineer:

You can run the trans as high as 220F all day long with NO ill effects. You can go as high as 250F for no more than a half hour at a time.

Check out pic -#2 the OP showed. It’s at 233 degrees engine temp when you convert that to F and listing the actual temp as a warning for being too hot so for sure something going on there that’s not right. These transmissions cool or warm from the engines coolant and looks like the engine is getting the trans hotter than normal. I agree, it’s not hurting the trans but not right and getting to the hotter side.

Could it be possible that the shudders are staying closed , I would think the fans would come on and be on high.

I’d suspect the engine water pump is leaking (even very slowly), which would cause the low engine coolant.
