These 10 Speeds transmissions are junk. My 2020 Max has been shifting rough since I hit the 5k mile mark and continues to do so. The dealer says it shifts just fine! Ha It’s such a load of BS. Everyone is having clunking issues etc. I drove my friends Max and it shifts just as bad as mine! This is a disgrace and Ford should be ashamed. My 1992 bmw 3series shifts seamlessly compared To this Hunk of junk. It’s a real shame bc the Max is beautiful. Lawsuits coming for you Ford

I had a somewhat similar issue which I posted about previously. Long story short it was a software issue in my case and a “flash” of the software fixed it

I suggest you check the transmission fluid levels personally. Our dealer said that the transmission fluid does not need to be checked or changed. We stopped going there.

This could be fluid, software or the valves in the transmission that sometimes need replacment.

We also had the dealer story that everything was fine and that it was normal, but it wasn't fine. They are lazy and/or uninformed. Really a terrible experience with the Ford dealerships overall.

You can almost with a certainty know that your transmission fluid level was NOT checked during a multi-point inspection. When there is no traditional dip stick all they do is a cursory inspection for leaks.
You can almost with a certainty know that I asked them to check it during the "Multi-Point Inspection" but thanks my guy!!!!!

I had the exact issues you stated. Did a transmission oil, filter change nothing changed. Changed valve body, and reset TCM, slight change. Ended up needing a transmission rebuilt. It had a bad CDF drum seal and a few other bad parts. I now don’t even notice when it shifts.
Mine was not under warranty (85k miles.) so it was tough to foot the bill but worth it.

Do you mind sharing how much you spent for that rebuild?

Our dealer wanted to charge us $90 to check the transmission fluid. That got a good laugh out of me.
