Anyone else experience this with car seats?

My daughter is about to hit the weight limit for her Graco forever car seat (while using the tether/anchor and 5pt harness). We will need to switch her to the seatbelt thus making her seat a booster. Has anyone used this combo for their child? We haven’t even put her in the seat yet and when testing the seat belt gets to it limit and then locks as it reels back. Is this normal? It doesn’t appear to have much length to allow her to even use it. We have the airbag seat belts and have confirmed with graco that we can use the belt For securing her to the seat but not to secure the seat to the car and continue using the 5pt harness. If I didn’t have the airbag belts I’d just keep using the 5pt harness to its weight limit.

Let me know your experiences if any?

I really don’t feel like buying a whole new seat to replace one that was supposed to be “forever”

The belts are designed to ratchet if you fully extend them.

yeah no I get that. I’m just trying to see if anyone with the same set up has run into issues with it ratcheting down on their kid. I used it on my daughter tonight on our way home from school. It seemed to be ok and did t ratchet down too much on her. So I guess it’s a non issue. The seat is very large and it seems like the belt isn’t long enough. But I guess it is.

Which seating position? If it is second row outside, you could try scooting the seat all the way back.
