Is anything being changed internally with the rebuilt transmissions or are they also going to be prone to premature failure.

Update on this. Tech drove it, and tried to do adaptive memory reset. No better. Pulled trans down and found a chunk missing from valve body. Clutch packs are good, and everything else is good. Seems crazy it could get damaged like that. Oh well. Part is on back order and no tent. date on arrival.

wow, so Ford ESP only covers 10 days of rental, and the dealership won't cover a loaner until the actually start diag'n the car. That means if my trans blows up next week, i'm on the hook for a rental for 5+ weeks at least until they even begin to look at it. That can't be right.
My full rental for about 27 days got covered and I was fully reimbursed. I rented a Sentra for $47 a day, which was less than the $60 max rate they cover. I was expecting to at least to have to fight to get them the meet me at the max rate for ten of the rental days. Also, you have to initiate the reimbursement through Ford directly, not the dealership, at least in my case. Also, Ford sends you a visa gift card, not a check

Has anyone had issues with their transmission not finding a gear on downshifts? We have a 2018 Limited and this week driving some back roads, I hit the throttle to pass a few cars in front of me. When I hit the accelerator to pass, the trans started clanking around hunting for a gear and never found it. The truck was basically in neutral so I had to back off the gas and fall back in line until it slid its way into gear. I haven't noticed issues with our trans at all until this point. Anyone else had this issue? I searched the site and didn't find anything on it.
I had it happen once when it was a few months old. I've driven it 2 years and 30K more miles since and it never repeated.

Another update on this. They replaced the valve body yesterday and test drove today. Trans failed. They will now have to completely pull the trans down and do a more through rebuild (vs just having to pull the pan from the lift for the valve body). Indefinite ETA.

And, latest update. Drum failed. Getting the updated part now. So, actually good news IMO. Might not have to go through all of this again any time soon.

Got my truck back yesterday. Almost 1 month to the day. List of parts they installed is 4 pages long lol. Some slight 'oddness' when shifting, but that may be its still learning? Glad to have it back, even if there is the slight odor of ATF inside. I'm sure that will go away.

I took my 2019 in just last week because of the downshift/hesitation issue and just received word that it's the valve body problem. The dealer told me the parts are already on back order and the truck won't get repaired until sometime in July.
