I have a 2003 Expedition with a charging issue. New battery, new alternator. Having trouble finding more information online. Checked fuseable link (good) so constant on 3 pin is reading battery voltage. Ignition on voltage on one pin is only 8.47. Should this be 12? I checked to see if possible resistance (corrosion) in wire, but am getting 8.47v at both ends. Is ECM possibly to blame? Can I use a jumper from battery to low voltage pin without damaging things?

What problem are you having that drove you to this troubleshooting ? I attached the charge circuit wiring diagram if you don't have it already.

Battery connection, including ground, is good.

Started with charging system light. Older battery, so I replaced it, charging system light came back on, so I had the alternator tested. O’Reilly said it was bad, so I replaced it. Still not charging, so I started researching and trying to figure it out.

Do you know what amperage alternator they gave you ? Unless you have FACTORY Navigation, you need the 110 amp alternator. Anything else will give you trouble and a check charge light.
