Love my 2018 Expedition but it's got a lot of miles on it and recently problems have started popping up, so I was hoping to upgrade to something newer and nicer. I ordered a 2023 Platinum Max -- not cheap! Went to my dealer and told them exactly what I wanted. The 'Ordering Specialist' told me no problem.

The car is built and come to find out that (1) MCS have been deleted and (2) they didn't put in the middle row bench that I wanted. Told them I'm not interested, they didn't seem concerned because supply is so tight they will sell to somebody else.

I really want a vehicle with Bluecruise and multicountour seats. It seems like I have three options:

1. Wait for 2024 orders and hope that Ford is no longer forcing the MCS delete.
2. Get a Navigator. TBH price is no object but I don't like the styling. Would much prefer the Expedition.
3. get an F150 platinum?

Is there anything that I'm missing?
Were there any 2022 Expeditions built with multicontour seats? I've been searching but it seems like everything new and used from 2022 on has the MCS delete.

Looking for opinions / advice, thanks in advance

When you placed your order, were you provided a copy of the order with the vehicle details and options?

Were you ever notified that the options you desire were deleted from your order?

I don’t have an answer for you, but it seems that you were treated very poorly by Ford and their authorized dealer.

I’d be switching to a different manufacturer based upon the poor treatment you received.

Very early 2022 builds have the mcs, but if those will be unicorns to the extreme.

My wife and i have driven the nav and expy back to back, there is a difference btw the two in terms of polish and refinement. You will feel the nav is worth the price difference.

If you search for a different vehicle, I think the only options close in size with massage front seats (both) and level 2 hands free driving capes are the escalade, yukon denali ultimate, x7, and gls.

It is not Ford‘s fault, that is all the dealer. Communication was poor. However OP should be asking to see the order and forcing the issue as well. Don’t let the dealer just tell you that you are all set, you need to make sure.

If Ford accepted a dealer order, and then later eliminated specific options or features, it is Ford’s fault.

Ford has never started that they were adding these features at all from my understanding. Even in the 23 order guide, the massage seat, park assist and 1 touch window deletes are "standard" so the dealer should've let op know that ford has not updated the guide to allow these features to be added.

They did not accept an order with those features still on it. You couldn't put orders in without the delete. It is the dealership, not Ford.

Can you just place a new order?
The MCS isn’t an option for any build outside Nav.

I am sure there is are other vehicle brands with these options but probably a smaller suv will be required. Also, the Jeep Wagoneer comes to mind since you said price is no problem and is comparable in size to the Expedition. I find myself in the same predicament. I extended my 2021 lease hoping 2024 will see the supply chain catch up with mcs seats availability and other deleted content from the Expeditions. If not...then what??? Do I think it is worth an extra 10 to 20K for an Ultimate Denali or Grand Wagoneer just for the seats? No, I don't but I use my mcs due to a injury and that is my reasoning for a Platinum instead of a Limited to start with.

It should be back by atleast the remodeled 25. If you're going to pay an extra 10k, might as well get a navigator, which has better massage function and seat period. Also, better stereo 2.
