    How good is ESP coverage?

I paid $75 for lighting. I think it depends on how long your term is. Longer warranty, the more it costs.

    New Extended Warranty

@GlennSullivan ...I extended mine through Zeigler. Easy Peasy with one phone call. I priced it online and called them. I priced online with Flood, Lombard and someone else. Zeigler was the cheapest by far! If you go on line to Zeigler, under the discount code, use "F150forum". It lowered the...

    Dealer trying to scam me?

I think this pretty much sums things up. A "car" is almost impossible to buy anymore as we have suv's galore and most manufacturers only build a few, if any "cars". The bigger picture is even something "cheap" is $40K and up. We were talking about replacing my wife's bullet proof 2015 RAV4. A...

19.3 MPG on 2023 Max Limited, Will Additives Help?

Slow down? I don't understand. This was part of my point. Relatively flat roads, cruise set, 65 mph, stay out of the turbo and these trucks aren't bad. You could/should get 22-25. I only used eco once and didn't really see much difference. Sport will use more gas, especially if you leave...

19.3 MPG on 2023 Max Limited, Will Additives Help?

Not to be a jerk, but you know it's a 6000 pound brick, right? You don't buy an Expedition for gas mileage. Mostly around town I'm 16-17. On the highway, I'm about 21-22. Best I ever got was when we moved out west. I was driving the rental truck and my wife followed me in the Expy. Top speed of...

Dump 19 Max due to trans failure?

This^ Sadly, this is what holds me back from doing anything. I will say, I'm waiting to see the February incentives. If they're good, maybe I'll look again. My other option might be to go with a NEW 2023 Navi. Yes, 2023. There are some dealers who are very heavily discounting them.

    2018 Expy Mainenance and Repair

I just rolled 65K but was in for service a month ago or so at 63K. Per the book, which I check prior to see what's due, nothing really big is due until 100K or more. Not saying it would hurt to do it early, but sleeping dogs lie. I'd let all the maintenance stuff go and get a second opinion on...

We just have cam phaser issues,

Yup, everything is junk right now....well, almost. I was looking at a Yukon and the GMC dealer said to me to stay away from the 6.2L. Nothing but trouble. So even the 5.3 is having trouble? Oy! I guess that really does it for me for Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade. Guess it's worth keeping my Expy.

    Battery recommendations??

Had mine replaced at the dealer last month after OEM tested bad. 3 year warranty, Motocraft, $255 plus install. Done! I was going to wait and do it myself, but I was there. Easy peasy.

Locking extra fob in car possible?

OK, I got it. I guess that's all the consumers these vehicles have. So, not fob related. You're just saying that the drain could leave you with a dead battery and your keys are locked in.

    Should I Buy a 2024 Expedition?

Maybe you got a good set? Either way...me? Never. Oh, and 44K miles? I got 60K out of the OEM Hankooks most people don't like. Probably could have pushed to 65K.

Locking extra fob in car possible?

Little confused. Are you saying that leaving the key in the vehicle will drain the battery? My fob is always in the truck, in the garage....always...for the 6 years I've had it. It's not locked, but that shouldn't matter.

    Should I Buy a 2024 Expedition?

General tires were, are and will always be crap. I never say never, but if I was buying new vehicle, especially $80K, and it had Generals, I'd make them change them, or I wouldn't buy that vehicle. No, never!

Locking extra fob in car possible?

Not to beat this dead horse, but this is the beauty of the keypad on the door and yes, the app. Many times we go shopping, or dressed a little nicer to go out to dinner where I don't want to deal with fob and I lock the fob in. Use the app coming out to unlock and start. Been that way for years...

    Should I Buy a 2024 Expedition?

That's pretty amazing. What crap. Guess that's lesson learned if it goes in for major repair. This is true. Part of why I go hot and cold about getting rid of mine. Many folks are actually buying anything pre 2020 and fixing it up.

    What fuel do you use?

@SyndicateZ .....right, me too, but you can't get 93 west of the Mississippi per se (IIRC), so 91 is it.

    What fuel do you use?

87, but I will throw 91 in once in a while, especially when it's cheap(er). I do believe it runs smoother and a little better with 91, but maybe it's psychological. And not to beat this dead horse, the book does say 87, BUT, if you have a platinum like mine, it does say you only get the 400...

Farewell to the board - thanks to all for your help

@aksarben ..Sadly, it's all a box of chocolates. Many have had multiple issues on many things...cam phasers, tranny. Mine is 6 years old, 64K miles and has been perfect. Probably why it's still here. Actually, probably close to the best vehicle I've ever owned. New car quality is such a shot in...

    Winter gas vs summer gas

Not sure your decrease in mpg is butane related. When I used to haul fuel, one certain supplier used butane all year long. The decrease is the winter blend, and the cold weather.

    Sudden battery death?

@Ugh_J ...This whole reset thing is weird. I did a search and it says anytime the truck is off and locked for 8 hours or more, an not being charged, it resets. But yet the owners manual says with a new battery you have to reset it. I guess as the kids say...whatever.

    Sudden battery death?

Just a quick update: Took mine in today for a quick oil change and tire rotation. Battery tested very low. SA said it failed the test. This whole thread flashed back in my head. Told them to replace it. I asked if they did the BMS reset and he said yes. Everything seems to be working properly...

2023 Rental XLT's Popping Up Everywhere - A Good Buy?

This! And sadly, so are almost all new ones today. Quality of new vehicles since 2020 seems to be getting worse all the time. I swear everyday I see a new recall, fix, TSB with some vehicle.

Driver side rear tail light - inner lens assembly fell off inside

That should absolutely be a warranty item, especially if you're on your third one. Go find a police officer friend who can write a warning for a safety violation.

My 2019 expedition Platinum with EcoBoost needs a new engine, and I need advice!

@kc930 ....I understand what you're saying. In my current personal situation, at $15K+ and at least a 6 month wait, I'd hand them my title and my keys, thank my Expy for it's service and be done. Based on what's it's worth (another conversation), I can't see going thru the aggravation and...

My 2019 expedition Platinum with EcoBoost needs a new engine, and I need advice!

I feel for you. I have no answers. This whole "back ordered" parts thing is crazy, and it's not just Ford. 6 months for an engine??!! What does the average person do? You can't rent a car for 6 months. Do you just hand them the keys and walk away? And if you're not under warranty, what does that...
