Above the plug in the circle in your first pic, there is a metal bracket in which it slides/clips on. When mounted, the stickered side faces towards the outside/left w/ the plugs facing your shin when in the driver seat.
It does not do this in my '21. I have to manually press the button no matter the speed or sensor reading. Would be great if it automatically came on though!
Same here when I had an '18. I actually asked Cyanlabs about it, mentioning the passenger likes to play DJ sometimes. They said no, it was still a safety issue. I asked about tying it to the passenger air bag seat sensor, but no response.
Coincidentally, I believe in a '21 (direct from Ford...
It was atrocious in my 2018, but works pretty much as expected on our '21. There's a TSB that did help some w/ our '18 and is for 2019's as well: https://www.tsbsearch.com/Ford/19-2162
I had an '18 and now a '21. Accidental activations aside, I could barely get the '18 to work when I wanted it to. I feel like I had to start more towards the driver side than center and kick at some weird angle for the times I did get it to work. The '21 works pretty flawlessly with a simple...
A little more info here: https://www.clickondetroit.com/consumer/help-me-hank/2022/05/19/park-outdoors-ford-recalls-suvs-due-to-engine-fire-risk/
"Ford has reports of 16 fires under the hood, 14 in rental company vehicles. One person was burned. It's recommending that the SUVs be parked...
I can't speak for what will be in the '22. But, I confirm there is difference in the leather of the standard limited from the '18's to the '21's. As you pictured, that looks like what's in the '18. Almost a glossy, smooth feel. In the '21, it's more of a matte finish, with a little grainy type...
You can always do a lease extension. Same payment and extends mileage & drops your residual accordingly. And you can terminate an extension at any time without penalty.
I know this article is older and states it ends August '21, but it hasn't ended...
No, very simple. I could have done it all over email. I just decided to call my dealer and talk through the order guide. After discussing all options, he emailed me the preview like 22Timberline posted (post 54) above. It shows you all the line item options w/ prices. I approved it, he submitted...
You need to find a new dealer. I placed an order for a '22 Limited 4x4 on Monday through my dealer. Less than an hour after getting off the phone with him I received an email direct from Ford:
"
YOUR ORDER HAS BEEN CONFIRMED...
I only have the '22 guide in front of me, but it mentions "Headlamps – LED Reflector with Signature Lighting and Bright Bezels" under Limited on page 16
All over the place. It's all profit margin for them and price vs. quantity. From Flood Ford FAQ's, "Is this the same product that is sold at my local Ford Dealership?
Yes. These Ford Protect contracts are backed by Ford Motor Company and are sold in all...
Do you know if the rear backup camera on the '18 and '21 are the same?
Had a '21 Edge w/ sync 4 as a loaner (cam phasers and VCT solenoids replacement) and that backup camera looked a lot worse than my '18 Expedition's rear camera.
Appreciate both your feedback and input. The '18 has 40k, the '21 would be new. Wasn't sure how much I'd miss the elsd, or not, w/ traction assistance..
Essentially it's a trade off with gaining 360 camera and ccd w/ 22" wheels on a new vehicle, but taking away elsd (and losing some sidewall on...
I have an '18 but am considering a '21. I don't off road, but I do drive down dirt roads, so have to deal w/ pot holes and what not. I live in southeast Michigan dealing w/ all 4 seasons and snow. Money and mileage aside, which would you choose based on the specs?
2018 Limited
