Lighting is a US GOV thing. All extra lighting automatically turns off when high beams are on. Even my 1982 french car sold in US did that. Not a Ford thing.
Good question
My 2019 seat back is getting messed up. I wish ford used a heavy canvas or smooth surface material vs this snaggy material that grabs everything.
I just talked to a Ford service rep today . The seat belt thing is still pending he said that there wasn’t an official fix yet.
The emissions one he said is listed as a 1/2 day time bracket but he said dealers often claim full day so told me if its an issue push for 1/2 day turnaround
I only tow 2x a year 8900 lb boat. The Expedition runs 8.5-9pmg
This spring I borrowed a buddy’s 2024 6.8L F250. What was interesting is that the 6.8 only starts producing power at 3500rpm and getting up into 4000-4500rpm is common when dragging that weight up a grade. 6spd transmission...
2025’s were delayed not even sure they are on the lots yet. I know the phaser part finally got sorted out somewhere into 2023. CDF drum issue assuming thats the main problem should have been a easy fix as soon as they realized the machining of the part wasn’t correct.
However!! If Ford...
The split tailgate is far more than just a novelty trick. The weakest part of a wagon’s style body is the giant hole in the back. A floating hatch provides zero structural integrity.
However!! Once you add a structural element across the opening you greatly increase the strength of that giant...
Having been through the thermostat issue I would agree that many of the transmission issues are likely in some part related to running hot for a long period of time.
Same for my late 19. Just got it Monday.
Only this one says OBD monitoring system for the catalytic converter may not be operating correctly. Nothing to do with transmission.
However a neighbor just told me his 5.3 2016 Yukon with 120,000 which had goofy shifting from the start wouldn’t move...
The chips are just modern versions of the “K&N” air filter. Unless you start modifying fuel systems, larger turbochargers, higher capacity injectors, then strengthening internal parts to handle the added power….. Your not doing anything other than fooling with electronic pedal sensitivity lol...
The recall vs quietly fixing if they get brought in and the dealer is open to loosing $ on the job thing has been a huge issue in the US Auto business since “dealers” were 3rd party businesses.
Not one “dealer” today wants warranty work. Its a loss of shop revenue over the $850 thermostat...
Don’t over torque the housing nuts. Its plastic. Not sure what torque they use. But be careful about it.
The radiator drain valve is pretty simple guessing they dump about 1/2 the radiator given the thermostat is about mid way up the coolant loop.
Maybe 2 gallons
But the techs just use the radiator drain valve dump it in a bucket and if its clean they just put it back in.
YouTube videos show the drain valve process its super simple. Definitely an easy handy dad job if you have time.
Electronic sway control is just stability control systems with some logic tied to bad trailer behavior. The very basic concept simply cuts power and prevents the driver from speeding up.
Sway is a instability that occurs as speed increases. The faster you go the more inherent stability you...
Horse trailers carry their weight differently than utility and rv style trailers. The horse trailer axles are pushed back farther like a boat trailer.
It all depends on how the trailer balances the weight. Also depends on the horses! My quarter horses I grew up with were huge horses. 15-17...

I would stick with OEM thermostats!! I have never had good results with aftermarket ones.
This video shows where it is. Its a simple job. Dealer tech can do these in 15-20 minutes...
Its literally two bolts takes a tech about 15 min. There’s almost enough room for them to stand between the radiator and the thermostat housing while replacing it.
These dealers are freaking ridiculous
6000lbs and up I wouldn’t call it towing
I’d say momentum management is a more accurate description. Your either trying to create momentum or managing the momentum to control speed or stop
I think your asking about the trailer default it gets stuck in even when not towing? Yeah its annoying
Its under select trailer / then you choose “no trailer” its stupid. It detects a trailer when plugged in but won’t drop the trailer mode when unplugged. Super annoying...
Just from a weight observation even with a vehicle like the F250
I have seen a big difference between towing 3000-4000lbs vs 6000lbs. Regarding how you adjust your driving style and stopping. The jump from say 4000lbs to 6000lbs you realize really fast that you need to anticipate your stops...
I’m curious how the F15O would do with my boat. Weight and cooling. Just ran a F250 6.8L 190 miles with the boat. Surprisingly the 6.8 needs flogging 3500-4500 rpm where the 3.5 just pulled hard at 2000-3000rpm.
2018-2022 the thermostats were trash. Ford quietly redesigned them. I had similar issues but caught it before it got that bad. The old thermostat fails slowly and first shows up in hot transmission temps. Eventually spiking the coolant temp.
Normal transmission temps no trailer id 183-201 on...
This is 190F updated thermostat Ford put in my 2019 after having issues with the all metal thermostat sticking and causing temp issues.
The transmission temp can be monitored in the dash menus from zero F and up. Prior to the replacement at 75,000 miles transmission temperature was running...
