Transmission Flush or Change Fluid/filter ?

Was the vehicle used for towing, or used in harsh conditions a lot? If not, you should be good to go as I'm pretty sure the tranny fluid is good for 100K . That being said, I had mine flushed at 60K as I tow a boat in the Summer. The service advisor at the dealer did not recommend the pan...

    Easy question i hope

Bushings! Check all tie rod ends and sway bar bushings and shoot a bit of white lithium grease on all points where the bushing meets metal. When dirt gets in there it creates a sticky sludge that "shines" up over repeated rubbing, and that leads to a squeak when going over bumps. I've had it...

Best option for replacing front struts?

From my experience, stock ford shocks don't last too long. I got 70K out of my '06, but they were shot probably around 60K. On my Harley truck, they lasted 27K. I bought a set of 4 Bilstein's for $360 and installed them myself. Each set was $180, and I would assume at least an hour + on a...

    Looking at purchasing an 03

Seems a little high for an '03, but I would check Edmunds.com and plug in the vehicle info to get an appraised price for your area. It is a pretty decent indicator of what a used vehicle goes for, but is NOT the golden rule. If that's the asking price, you can always go lower. I typically...

    URN (Unidentified Random Noise)

A light throttle whine sounds like it could be the differential whining caused by excessive backlash in the gears. I had this in an Explorer I had. Coasting had absolutely no noise, light throttle had the whine, esp at higher speeds (50-70), and getting on it produced no noise (or at least...

2003 ford expedition 2nd gen xlt, Need help on Brake bleeding

I'll see if I can find a pic, but I bought a new brake fluid cap and put an air compressor connector through it. I put my compressor at 15 psi and used that to "power bleed" my lines. Worked like a champ. Just have to refill the reservoir a couple of times.

I would imagine you need the newer core support too. Are you going to replace the bumper pads? I have read you need to cut the frame on yours to get the newer style pad to fit.

Dude, WTF? Either your jealous of someone thinking out of the box, or just a troll! Or both!! May not be your thing, but who gives a crap. I think the front clip idea is pretty cool, and I'm sure you would like a little more power under the hood yourself. It's not affecting you in any way...

"Don't try to replace spark plugs!" 2008 Why not?

I used PB Blaster alone and it did little to help as 6 of the 8 plugs broke. But other's have used it and it worked well for them. I let mine sit overnight too. I would run an additive in the gas that helps remove carbon build-up for a tank or two to prior to removal. This along with the PB...

    Drinking Coolant

That's a lot to lose in a week. Any white smoke or a sweet smelling exhaust? If so, a head gasket is the culprit. If not, check for a leaking hose or heater core.

To quote 402motoring about the swap.... "Yes they pretty much line up but the 03' to 06 use a large lower mldg that I did not want to add to the rest of the truck. So all those holes had to be welded up and smoothed to replicate the look of a 99 fender. We're also going to have to deal with...

When I got my '06 in 2008, it was spotless. About 2 years later it started to bubble above the license plate trim. I talked to an acquaintance who works in a body shop, and he said to get it taken care of as soon as I could as the aluminum is fairly thin and letting it corrode further would...

Someone did a 2nd gen Navigator front clip on a 2003 Harley Truck (same front end as yours) and it took quite a bit of fabrication, especially to match up the moulding lines from clip to doors. I'll see if I can find a pic of it. But it looked pretty damn good!!

    lightning motor with trans

Yeah, my '02 Harley was gray, and the '03's were black. The HD has 2 lbs less boost than the Lightnings due to a larger blower pulley like you said Tom. Swap the pullies out and get an L tune, and you're good to go. But on a non L engine and tranny, the HD setup might be a bit safer...
