    2005 4x4 expedition front shocks

Brodi, that sounds like a good idea if you don't want to mess with a spring compressor. They can actually be dangerous if not used correctly. First thing I would do is a search on the monroe struts to see what kind of feedback they have, especially the ride quality. I'm not saying they are...

    2005 4x4 expedition front shocks

Once you get the assembly out of the wheel-well, get a good spring compressor to compress the spring, then remove the upper nut. The shock will come right out. But expect the top nut on the shock shaft to be very rusted if these are the original shocks. You might have to cut it off to remove...

    1998 ford expedition crumpled metal

There's a second gen being parted out in Milwaukee's craigslist. Don't know how close you are though. Good luck with the repair.

I thought the 2 Gen Expy didn't have a posi?

You can have a LS if you DON'T have Advance Trac/RSC.

    One thing you could change....

Non-corroding hood and hatch. Other than that, I love my Expy. It has handled everything I have thrown at it and still looks good when I get the chance to wash it.

    Raptor grill

I'm sure one could do it, but not without major changes to the front end. You're probably better off changing all the sheet metal to the Raptor front end.

    Towing with a Lift

Anyone out there with a 3/2 lift on a second or third gen and towing with it? Thinking of going with Readylift SST 3/2, but a little concerned with towing 6000 lbs with it. Thinking it will be Ok since the lift is basically a shock mount extension, but interested in hearing any first hand...

    Crate vs. Custom Rebuild.

Ditto. I will also add that if you start changing the cams, pistons, and heads, you WILL need a custom tune to get the full benefit of the mods.

which 26 inch rims to buy?

I voted for the Estrella, but honestly I wouldn't go bigger. 24's are large enough and look good on your ride. You will save quite a bit of money keeping what you have, and Dibs idea is a great alternative.

Everybody say hi to ZombieKiller, aka, the guy that bought my truck

I assume that Zombies don't stick to the streets, so he needed something to chase them off road too.

Cuts out, wth? I need help quick!

That's the sign of a misfire. Could be a plug or a coil. Go have the codes read at your local auto parts store and see what codes were thrown. If it's a misfire it will be P30X, with the X being the cylinder that is misfiring.

Need torque upgrade towing advice from you experts!

Increasing line pressure basically just does what you think it does. It will have a constant increase in pressure to get the firmer/quicker shift. Changing the valve body will do the same (or similar) at a lower line pressure. The valves/springs are changed to get the quicker shift without...

Need torque upgrade towing advice from you experts!

^^What Paul said. If you get a programmer, don't be tempted to increase the line pressure on the trans. This will wear out the trans quicker (clutches I believe). You would be better off with a valve body replacement for the quicker shifts.

97 5.4 dripping water (?) into cab from under glove box

If you have a sunroof, the drains can clog. The typical place of water entry on clogged drains is the passenger side A-pillar which will eventually lead to the passenger floor. Could also be a bad windshield seal, but the location has me to believe it's the sunroof drains.

    Expedition Problems

That, or someone is putting something in your tank. Have you checked the voltage at the pump to make sure its correct. If high, it could be burning out the pumps.

Seat belt not retracting very well

Typically when the seat belt doesn't retract well, it's time to replace it. You don't want to lube it as it is a safety issue.

    factory paint

Yes, you need the hardener and a decent HVLP spray gun to apply the paint. Some NAPA stores do mix paint into rattle cans too, so you can get any color you want in that if it's easier for you.

    factory paint

NAPA has a decent paint department, you just have to find one that does paint as not all do. They have color chips that you can match, and they can do OEM color codes. The paint is relatively cheap, it's the hardener thats expensive. If you're just doing your grill, you can get a 1/4 quart...

Does anyone else hate Ford seatbelts?

Never a problem with mine. The buckle stays near the top of the strap when not buckled. I was lucky enough to be wearing mine when I had a wreck when I was 16. Weird thing is, I wasn't wearing it for nearly the whole ride home (30 minutes), but i put it on backing out of a friends driveway...

    April's EOTM Them: Towing

Yes it is. That's the reason it's for sale as it's too big for the lakes we take it on. It's really meant for open water, and is actually set up for salt water.
